a rider in the worlds Junior TT suffers what looks like a broken crank as he comes off the Worlds TT ramp. Eurosports Carlton Kirby says' looks like his cotterpin has broken'. Don't think they use cotterpins any more Carlton !

Prediction time once more?

I don't watch the non-elite TTs either. But when the road races come, I watch as many as I can, enjoying the hype that slowly creeps in, culminating with the race day of the season where I'm most at the edge of my seat.

I also enjoy the Italian races because I realise that it's soon over and I have to wait three months until I can have my nice yearly week where I get up at 4 am to watch the Tour Down Under just to get disappointed by the lack of interesting racing.

Edit: I also have to add, that the end-of-season races are especially interesting this year because I have a non-zero chance of winning the CQ game :D
When you live in Australia and have to wake up at 1am to watch most races finish :(

I thought it would be easy on tiz or cycling fans in the US?

As long as your internet is working properly and you don't have an internet company that has decided to place limits on your data. (I know a few have done that in past with the data limits as well as throttling data during busy hours.) However, if you want to watch things live work gets in the way a lot. (For other internet options you have tiz or you can pay for Flo Bikes and NBC Gold.

Very nice ride by Tiberi.

Also a small note, Vinicius Rangel will be racing the Worlds Junior race for Brazil. He's also the first member of Valverde Team to go to the Worlds. He's also the only rider for Brazil in the men's junior race.

will be his 2nd. last year he went just to understand how everything works(30th). He is delighted to be with Bala team..
No Brazilians in the elite so we are all in cheering for him and Ana Polegath in the elite woman tomorrow..

He's had very good results since he's been with Bala's team. He seems to have integrated very well into that team. Glad he's happy to be there. Hoping his experience from last year will help him a bit for this year. I wish him luck.

Van Moer will surprise us all by winning this time. I’m curious about Hirschi as well, but I dislike that someone can take part in two different categories at the same WC.

Anyone know why there was only one Aus entry across the two junior races, with no junior women? Strange to see when this is Australia's most successful event along with the Men's Elite TT.

More money has been funnelled into the track program, hence why Australia had limited exposure to the Nation's cup - After all, Gerry can't fund everything.

The Italian developmental system has really produced more top rouleurs than pure climbers durning the last few years.
Edit: apparently Tiberi is 182cm tall and only 62kg heavy, a body type like Nibali. That makes it even more impressive, he's also a good stage racer.

The German commentator yesterday said, that Tiberi reminded him of Nibali. I think it was more down to the tone of the name though: Antonio Tiberi - Vincenzo Nibali

Van Moer has been preparing with Campenaerts, who is a complete mad man when it comes to ITT details. I think he'll be flying as well, but it has to be said that Van Moer has been very, very up and down in time trials this year. He beat Bjerg very early in the season, then delivered nothing in the European Championships, only to be good once more in Denmark, followed by a meh performance in Britain. Very much agreed on Hirschi's part.

Indeed, he was already 3rd in the same time as Vacek and Evenepoel in the Peace Race last year, where Altenberg is probably the most telling climb in the junior ranks. Furthermore, he might be the best descender this generation has, he has very good technique. Last year in Loano, Vacek was toying with everyone and rode more than a minute away on the ultimate climb. Tiberi nearly bridged that gap in the descent alone, that was some very impressive stuff.

Horrendous weather conditions at the moment in Harrogate and torrential rain forecast for next few hours. Hope they are wrong but looks messy

Presumably the reason that there is a men's U23 but not a women's is that women are considered to be physically capable of competing with anyone at, or soon after, the age of 20.

Given results in some major races, especially over the last few months, how much justification is there in the existence of a men's U23 category?
