Dennis is such a beast. Can the bicycle really make such a difference or is it mostly in his head?

I mean, even if he lost a minute on a slower bike, he could still win this race it looks like.

Unlikely it makes that big a difference but yeah, psychologically it can be big.

I never believed the complaints about the Merida bikes but I gotta admit I was wrong.
Probably not the most stable person out there, probably his head played a role too, but man... Dennis is destroying everybody here. Amazing.

I think the main takeaway is that Nibali would've won the Giro with 2 stage wins on a BMC TT bike
If you really can conclude this, yes. But I am sceptical. Cause if you go by Dennis' performances, the bike makes a difference of minutes.

But it may have been a combination of the Merida bike not quite as good and Dennis obsessing over it.

Hard to rank Dennis' performance. Aside from him I don't think this is a particularly good field, I mean his biggest rival won in the junior ranks last season. This would look a lot less dominant with someone like dumoulin or froome in top shape as well or Martin, wiggins and cancellara from a few years ago. Phenomenal performance nontheless of course

This is not Campenaerts' day!

And for a moment I feared he was going to try and repeat his stunt from the Giro...
