Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous.

I don't think I can express how much I hate this new rule.

It's not that dangerous for Christ's sake!

it's not dangerous for a pro on a closed road, but for kids on traffic filled roads trying to copy what they see on the tv? maybe it is a good thing?

It's not like there's no combat sports on TV or anything, and frankly I don't think it's up to the UCI to act like parents to kids who don't give a *** about cycling. Why not ban X games altogether? Ban any videoclip of some idiot trying something dangerous.

Kids are gonna be idiots either way, don't ruin cycling ove rit.

Then put a banner after cresting the summit like they did in wrestling

"Cyclists are skilled professionals -bar Richie Porte, Thibaut Pinot and a few others- competing on close roads: Kids, don't try this at home"

The idea of elevating athletes to (moral) role-models is ridiculous. Sport is not idealized reality, and it has no moral obligation to viewers detached from its moral obligations to its participants.

Maybe kids will copy boxers, must ban that sport. Maybe kids will copy the characters in video games and shoot others, must ban (violent) video games.

Moral panic and wholesome public characters are not what kids need to learn how to behave well and safely, it's real flesh and bone adults that they have an actual relation with.

The supertuck ban is just crazy, a lot of riders have that as their competitive advantage, they're basically saying time differences shouldn't be made on a downhill anymore. Maybe just neutralize all the descents from now on.

Of all the idiotic things that the UCI has done over the years, this might just top the list. Might negate a key aspect of cycling. Wonder if this will backfire due to riders adopting more dangerous positions instead.

Like the penis out position (first discussed during the 2020 TDF as a safety precaution when crashing downhill)?

Well, technically that would be "no tuck".

Next changes will probably be to enforce fully stopping when peeing, for the whole caravan to stop if someone needs to take a dump, and for the thickness of suntan lotion to be above 2mm.

What about the "seat tuck", "superman" and the famed "back down"?

Wow, Ilnur Zakarin and Sébastien Reichenbach have really stepped up their game!
