Such a strange mix of riders - you have ones who already compete at the top level while others can probably barely afford a tt bike.
This, but frankly it has been that way a long time. Look at Davide Martinelli, who was a great TTer in the junior and u23 ranks because of his father's connections and money giving him acsess to top tier equipment. Once everyone got the same chance he was no longer anything special as a TTer, after beating riders like Ganna and Affini in the u23 ranks.Such a strange mix of riders - you have ones who already compete at the top level while others can probably barely afford a tt bike.
Wiggo, Beloki, Vino, all the stars are out there
Tbf Christen was never getting selected over Küng and Bissegger (although the latter's offday means he likely would have done better in retrospect). This is a great ad for the UCI‘s rule that bans WT and PT riders from U23 worlds. Del Toro and Christen could easily also race with the Elite.
Yes, I was thinking more of the road race where he will be missed.Tbf Christen was never getting selected over Küng and Bissegger (although the latter's offday means he likely would have done better in retrospect).
Almost 57 km/h for Romeo on the final split, if we weren't in Switzerland I would have been inclined to blame a timing malfunction rather than a huge negative split...
Actually Christen benefitted from a TV moto riding very close to him. Super impressive. The road is almost dry now.Did Romeo have Affini's moto in front of him?
