glad to hear it. is there a word (other than reactionaries) that describes mythologists who are fighting myths?

(structuralist is also already taken.)

no, i don't. but you didn't answer the question. if you do, you're being exploitative; if you don't, you're saying nothing.

Exploitive no. Caring and supportive, yes.

how, so? sounds victimizing. care and support of a weak target? media reinforcement of a questionable ego?

that's care and support?

I don't deal in myths, but i like to fake ones in the sport of cycling exposed.

Since we are discussing the meanings of words.

'Phronēsis' is an Ancient Greek word for wisdom or intelligence, which i dont see to much re cycling from your keyboard.

Is the 'A' for Armstrong?

this was beaten to death back in december, but, since we're killng time, a is a negative prefix (as in asphyxiation).

words and letters have functions, they don't merely symbolize big, strong values (like: truth, good, bad, etc.)

although you brought it to the level of poster, i won't get into the exciting and frustrated pathology of your avatar

My avatar is a crop of an illustration by Brian Bolland, if you care to delve into the excitement and frustration of it since you have time to kill.

Seems you hit no nerves, really, but will play any and all chords you can wander upon--same "logic" that had the case being an inevitability.

Again, skipping the "we" exactly how were you demonstrating care and support for SMI?

Was that like the "like" button on Facebook? Touching. Out of such cycling tragedy comes so much compassion.

You sound upset that not too many people are accepting the Feds case got dropped,....QUOTE]

I just pointed out that this Tilford guy can't be a follower of the sport if he just heard about the FA/JV PM. And, he pastes it without 1) Stating that JV has refuted its contents 2) Livingston's current relationship with LA 3) The blood bag story being refuted and 4) playing up the cleanliness of JU and Moreau (laugable IMO).

Since I believe he does know these things and "forgot" to point out the present day context of that PM, as well as miraculously stumbling upon this PM recently, he is a BS'er with an agenda and a hook that is squarely implanted in your mouth.

From this you conclude what I have quoted above.

Your reasoning skills are not something to brag about.

I was replying to RR's post, and called BS on the guy.

Not upset, even at your perpetual clown act.

Yeah, he had never heard of that PM exchange while being around the sport for decades.

Maybe he should research some of the things mentioned within it, and wash it thru the BS filter to enhance his knowledge.

You calling Tilford a liar?

You have any effing idea who the guy is?

Maybe you ought to do a little homework...

So he's ridden a bike? That makes his word on all things sacrosanct?

Ummm, he probably has a couple of decades or more at an extremely high level. His perspective carries more weight than does yours or Chrissy's.

Sorry.

do you have any idea who Tilford is? or what he has done on and off the bike? There was a few references to female racers and who they are or were married to, taking shots at Tillford is misdirection at Armstrong anger that you should probably stop. I hope at the end of my bike thing that I am 1/tenth as fast as Steve Tilford, and that is aiming really.really fvcking high.

I'd say that's Game Set Match.

Bad day at the office for aphronesis..... Come back tomorrow and start again.

Perhaps have a pop at Greg LeMond.... Remember that guy? Jealous of Armstrong's success.

Ok I'm off to ride my bike. What are you guys doing?

Yes, I do. It's a small subsection--cycling--of life in this country. Names aren't hard to remember.

I didn't take any shots at Tilford. The rest of that clause is mostly incomprehensible but if I take your "point," blunt as it may be, it has nothing to do with "Armstrong anger," but a more pervasive and self-induced condition of stupidity.

@scotty: where does your word fall in value on said debate? higher than mine and "chrissy's"?

too bad you're not in office and on the gj. points for style though. i guess.....

Any day in an office is a bad one. (Office sounds like Clinic, no?)

Anyway, I'd be curious if you could show me where I've taken shots (however slight) at any of the Anglo/US sacred cows of the cycling world?

Do you not find it odd that Tilford, who has been involved in the sport for decades, only stumbles on that Vaughters/Andreu exchange now? What i do find odd is how you're clamouring to him when clearly he does not have much insight into it, especially the developments that occurred after the exchange. Thinking for oneself and looking at things objectively is as important as listening to outside opinion.
