After hiding out for the last couple years Johan says he is coming to ToC. That should be interesting

Who wants to wager that some "Unforeseen circumstance" comes up that prevents him from coming to California?

Well, I hope he comes but then sometime in the middle he suddenly bolts from his hotel and vanishes. :D

The master tactician will have to use all of his racing smarts to evade all sorts of people… ! Maybe Versus will have one of their big arrows on TV that they had for Lance so we can spot the Hog fleeing his hotel room?

…and what of poor Andy? He’ll be rudderless. Probably climb off his bike and hit the clubs.

it's half time.

I can understand why you would want to head home early, the 2nd half will be a blow out.

I can understand why you would want to keep it alive. Nobody is following you for your boring and uninteresting comments on cycling, your internet persona is tied to LA. If Lance fades into oblivion your little bit of internet fame goes "****" and so do you. Its easy to keep these clinic shut-ins believing, can you do it on twitter is the question.

* P 00 F as in vanish fails the word filter??

Come on, man.. don't take it so personally. You can do better than that.

The big arrow would follow him fleeing from the hotel, scaling a fence, through an abandoned warehouse to an airstrip where he's finally caught trying to board a flight to Argentina.... Phil & Paul would commentate it play by play.

As for Andy it's my understanding that the organizers of the ToC have been working closely with the RadioShack team. To incentivise Shleck the key mountin stage will actually finish inside a nightclub... that way he's bound to finish.

Stuey will be there mate, mate, cheers mate, bonza mate.

So, Newsweek is out with a report suggesting selective prosecution regarding AG Holder. Also discusses connection to Covington and turning the other cheek when "contributions" are involved.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.....

Putting a Covington partner--he spent nearly a decade at the firm--in charge of Justice may have sent a signal to the financial community, whose marquee names are Covington clients. Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Deutsche Bank are among the institutions that pay for Covington's legal advice, some of it relating to matters before the Department of Justice. But Holder's was not the only face at Justice familiar to Covington clients. Lanny Breuer, who had co-chaired the white-collar defense unit at Covington with Holder, was chosen to head the criminal division at Obama's Justice. Two other Covington lawyers followed Holder into top positions, and Holder's principal deputy, James Cole, was recruited from Bryan Cave LLP, another white-shoe firm with A-list finance clients.

Justice insists that political operations such as fundraising are kept strictly distanced from the department, in order to avoid even the appearance of political influence. But the attorney general and his team are not unfamiliar with the process; Holder was himself an Obama bundler--a fundraiser who collected large sums from various donors--in 2008, as were several other lawyers who joined him at Justice.

It would be a leap to infer these Goldman contributions were made--or received--as quid pro quo for dropping a criminal investigation. Still, the situation constitutes what one Justice veteran acknowledged is a "bad set of facts."

Hummm, is this the corruption Goober was referring to?

Looking forward to Johan's visit to the Tour of California. I wonder what sudden excuse he might come up with for staying home?

Bruyneel will not make it to the start of the Amgen Tour of California.
Well, if he does make it to the start, he will not be at the finish.
And if he does make it to the finish, he will be thrown under a bus on his way back to the airport.

Money buys influence, imagine that. Probably belongs in the politics thread as well.

Yep. I have a real problem with corruption. Glad to see you admit Lance is in up to his eyeballs.
