Now is the perfect time for a young journalist to make a name for themselves by bursting the liestrong bubble and tell the true story behind this charade.

I hope 60mins go for it.

If only Scott Pelley (60 Minutes) could get an extensive interview with George Hincapie...I would love to see how Lance's team would respond to the buildup of an interview like that....

That... is coming.

The questions will be sooooo easy.

Lance, witch hunts are, of course, complete fiction. But, if you consider the USADA case to be a witch hunt, are you stating that you are a witch?

Lance, you have said that you are doing this to be with your family. Why are you still racing? Doesn't that take away from time with your family, time promoting Livestrong, and affect the legitimacy of the event itself?

Lance, you say that you donated money to the UCI to support anti-doping. Are you now opposed to anti-doping?

Lance, you are a former Olympian and you support the IOC. WADA was created by the Festina scandal, and you were the recipient of a cleaned up Peloton for your first win. The efforts to clean up cycling worked in your favor. We know that you had a dispute with Mr. Pound, but he is no longer at WADA. If you support the IOC, why don't you support WADA?

Lance, did you sign your license where it says you agreed to anti-doping tests and rules? Because, if you didn't then all of your wins were not legitimate, isn't that right?

Dave.

Gunderson is not going to talk to anyone that is not onside.

LA [facial expressions twisting all around to show deep thinking] Has anyone ever called YOU a witch? You must know how terrible that is.

Lance, you have said that you are doing this to be with your family. Why are you still racing? Doesn't that take away from time with your family, time promoting Livestrong, and affect the legitimacy of the event itself?
LA: The Foundation is doing well, we're forging ahead with our mission, we're going to be there to support those who're suffering.

I've been thinking about the Science of Sport's "conspiracy theory" comment and was wondering just how many people/organizations would have to be involved in this conspiracy. I was trying to come up with a list to present to the "theorists"

1. USADA
2. WADA
3. Tygart
4. Sparks
5. Floyd
6. Tyler
7. 8+ other cyclists (GH,LL,CV,DZ,JV,????)
8. Frankie
9. Betsy
10. Mike Anderson
11. Emma O'Reilly
12. Julien Devries?
13. Michel Rieu (AFLD) now that he said Lance got special treatment

Who else would have to be in on it?

Ron Jongen - US Postal soigneur in 1999.

Ex-USPS soigneur speaks

Ron Jongen, a former soigneur with the US Postal team until 2000, has expressed further allegations concerning the 1999 Tour de France, and possible doping practices within the American squad. Armstrong's masseur told Dutch newspaper Limburgs Dagblad that he was present when team director Johan Bruyneel made comments about the riders' hematocrit levels before the 1999 Tour de France prologue.

At the last team meeting before the race, the 42-year old Dutchman from Kerkrade recalled, "Bruyneel said: they're just under 50 [Jonathan Vaughters noted this too - ed.]. When he saw that I heard what he said, he put his finger on his lips immediately: I wasn't supposed to say anything about it." While Jongen said that he was still on good terms with Armstrong (having e-mail contact as recently as at the 2005 Tour de France), the former masseur also talked about "strange, very strange things that went on in France that summer."

Jongen also recalled that three Spanish doctors visited the team's hotels in a green station wagon. "It was the only car that wasn't branded US Postal," the former soigneur said. "All the team cars parked in front of the hotels, but this car always parked at the rear entrances. The strange thing was that these doctors always slept on another floor," Jongen added, also saying that these doctors followed the team also at the Vuelta, but that they used the main entrance then.

But former USPS team manager and current Discovery Channel team manager Johan Bruyneel denied the soigneur's statements. "Mr. Jongen has a rich imagination," Bruyneel countered. "There was one doctor in our team, no-one else, and I never saw that green station wagon - it's all nonsense. And I never said anything that should stay secret."

Good find on Jongen.

Interesting that they were less careful at the Vuelta. Maybe because they were Spanish and would not stick out or maybe no one cares about doping in Spain.

Really! Didn't know this! Is it because Trek is starting to reposition themselves?

Trek must be about to buy out one of their owners? That would be the only way to "reposition themsleves" considering the current ownership makeup? But to be fare to Trek LA is just a figurehead I think??????????

Was their any SRAM on that rig? How about was he using any other products in No label / blank labels besides Honey Stinger or FRS?

:eek::eek:

Jaksche did say you could drive around Spain with EPO taped to your windshield and you wouldn't have any problem

Big George will most certainly be talking, just not to people of his choosing. There will be revelations of his decision to retire when this was all put in motion, and it was not due to his age, or his being tired of a witch hunt.

What would an email trail that shows an attempt to influence other co-conspirators in a USADA investigation amount to? Extenuating circumstances at a minimum? Obstruction? Witness intimidation? To you law minds, could criminal charges come out of an arbitration process if a participant is found to have participated in such actions?

A couple other things: embracing and repeating are not the same. Doing the latter habitually to convince others that you aren't ignorant of basic facts sounds like a second grade exercise.

To that end, I never denied Floyds gift to them. However are you arguing that it's only because Floyd talked that others did?

You used the word "embracing," but if it was not your intention to use that to mean what I suggested, I cede to your point.

Yes, I am arguing that Floyd's talking was the impetus for the others doing so.

Floyd dropping the bomb is what steered Novitsky in LA's direction.

I remember hearing a story during the Federal investigation of Novitsky showing up unannounced standing in Tony Cruz's driveway. From what I hear it scared the **** out of him. True or not I'm guessing several guys made a decision that they would talk before they go to jail for Lance.

So yeah, Floyd essentially blew up the omerta.
