True. Republicans tend to like sports, just as Democrats tend to like celebrities. Armstrong has it covered.

But if you want to turn most elected Republicans against Armstrong, remind them of Armstrong's atheism and support of abortion.

http://www.prolifeblogs.com/articles/aggregator.php?entry=1158772

I'm not trying to start a Clinic fight over abortion! I'm only suggesting a way to limit Armstrong support from elected Republicans. No elected Republican can afford to be seen as "pro-abortion" these days.

Some creative news headlines need to be written.

Senator, why do you hate unborn babies?

Did the people put you in office to support dope users, atheists, and baby killers? You should be ashamed, senator, ashamed!

I saw this coming, just waited to see which political hack would bite. With the whole pr campaign #unconstitutional, the "wasting" tax money, Lance and Co were trying to play to the Tea Party groups and ultra dumb conservatives. Trying to make it a tempest in a tea cup.

Good strategy, might work, many probably won't pay attention given the current climate. Too many shiny things being thrown in front of them to keep them distracted.

Rep. nocommonsennsenbrenner bit the hook....big fat donations from Trek I suppose. Can't believe it took this long...

Seriously. That's what Fabiani would do. Why not our side?

Sensenbrenner is not only a Republican, he represents a state and a district with a lot of Catholic voters. Catholic Republicans are the most anti-abortion of all.

The time to apply political pressure was two months ago. Once the process is underway and public it is pretty much impossible to stop.

Pardon me for pointing it out but those sound too much like famous last words . . . .

Good digging by the NYdaily News Guys

Remember when Armstrong's Lawyer said they had not received any evidence? They lied

Court papers reveal that Luskin acknowledged USADA’s blood testing information in a letter dated June 16, a day after USADA shared the spreadsheets with Armstrong's legal team.

Let them know who Sensenbrenner is supporting.

That is a really good idea, especially if the effort is broad spetrum and writ large. The information is available to skewer Armstrong's PR campaign. It just needs to be disseminated in easy to understand formats. Infographics like the 500 test one, are good because they can be passed around social media easily.

I never said that. patrick happens to be a cancer survivor and I was directing my conments to him. As to the comic reference i think that should be easy to see who is posting comic strips. It is not like i have created a thread about things that happen in the shower.

although that thread probably did get formed about what could be done to mask doping in the shower while the testers are waiting

How about flip-flopping?

http://www.withoutthejuice.com/act-congress-stop-steroids/

In March 2004, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) introduced HR 3866, the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004. The Act proposed an amendment that would add anabolic steroids to the list of drugs prohibited under the Controlled Substances Act. The bill included a detailed list of many new substances that would be banned, and suggested double penalties for those who manufacture and sell steroids near ‘sports facilities.’

The best way to respond is to accuse Sensenbrenner of shutting down the truth and hiding evidence.

Sensenbrenner will not be able to respond effectively in that context.

U.S. Anti-Doping Agency studies Lance Armstrong's 2009 blood in attempt to convict him as cheater.
Armstrong's blood samples were carefully stored and are now at the heart of agency's attempt to strip him of his seven Tour de France titles. "Lance passed every test given to him in 2009," lawyer says.

On May 31, 2009, Lance Armstrong rode conservatively to a 12th-place finish in the Giro d'Italia, a prestigious stage race in Italy, then flew home to Aspen await the birth of his fourth child, Max.

But before Armstrong left Italy, a doping control officer took a sample of the star cyclist's blood, which a laboratory test later revealed to have a 38.2% hematocrit ratio, a key marker of an athlete's endurance. The result was a little low for Armstrong, but it wasn't terribly unusual; hematocrit fluctuates, and in 2009 Armstrong's usually hovered between 40 and 43.

What appeared strange is the spike in Armstrong's hematocrit score just a few weeks later. On June 16, when another blood sample was taken from Armstrong, his hematocrit was 45.7. That was high for Armstrong, and for most people.

Ya - I posted one of his quotes on steroids earlier, so here are some more:
It is essential that we put an end to steroid abuse and set a better example for aspiring young athletes to follow, so that some day, when they make it in the All Star Game, it will be because of their own natural talents, and not because of a performance enhancing product.

Several professional athletes have wrongly taught many young Americans by example that the only way to succeed in sports is to take steroids.

Football, basketball, and the Olympic sports all have their problems with banned substances.

Got this from college on my PM. This is the third PM he's sent me since I got back today.

The mortgage buisness needs you. Though guy. See you on twitter. Have you figured it out yet? Check out the dolks who have viewed my page some interesting hits. Coil story indeed fern guy.

The reference is from the conversation I had with Juan Pelota on twitter. He is hiding who he really is though. Me, I am not one of those people who is scared of revealing who I am, so I guess he feels he has something to hide. Anyway, just wanted you guys to know that college is Juan Pelota on twitter some of the time. I think this confirms that it wasn't Lance who I had the exchange with, but he is close enough to him to have his twitter password (because some of the tweets by Juan seem authentically to be Lance). I hope it wasn't lance because he should be a bit too harried now to have the time to waste here beating up on the locals. Then again, as is evidenced with his first complaint, we know Cancer Jesus can be really petty.

Anyway, just wanted to get this out in the open so that you can have a little bit better idea of who college is, and why he is here. The USADA clearly has Lance and his fans rattled, so I am not surprised they need to get out the message wherever they can. This place is fair game, everyone is welcome to offer opinions, so thanks for taking the time to post here college. Keep coming back.

The last reference is a little known, but funny thread I helped develop on Slowtwitch a few years ago. It dealt with ferns. It was great fun.

And I got a warning for posting a pic of George Costanza getting angry. Although it was spot on, I guess I should have done it the official way and harrassed him with a few crazy PMs instead.

<snip>

Thanks for posting. The walls are closing in on Armstrong. Never before has he been this rattled. The USADA is playing it very cool and controlled. Not getting the least bit upset at the bullying by Lance and his band of PR shills. I really do find it sad that he just cannot see that telling the truth is the best option.

I wonder if the raise in HCT coincide with his visit to Ferrari that they admitted to a couple of days ago? Man, Lance really needs to study the chaos theory, you just can't keep the genie in the bottle forever.
