Mapei guinea pig... what about Manolo Sainz 60.000 € in a suitcase guinea pig. hehehe

But, there is no investigation into Olano, as dirty as he may have been, he is legally clean ;-). So, as Eki and Lance, (investigated now), Ullrich, admitted doper, Olano gold medalist!

Sure. Legally he is the gold medal winner. Morally well that depends on your moral compass.

I would * the era of EPO with ** for those who like Hampsten and Lemond were clean and we have no reason to doubt their performances. Of course it depends on when and where to start the epo era!

That article suggests the team will be announced tomorrow, not that those riders weren't chosen. Typical of VN, the beginning is a mess suggesting interns are writing with some lazy proof reading done before letting it go live. What a mess.

Maybe you have advanced knowledge of who is on the list?

it's on cyclingnews front page...

Men's road cycling:
Timmy Duggan (Liquigas-Cannondale)
Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Barracuda)
Chris Horner (RadioShack-Nissan)
Taylor Phinney (BMC Racing) – road race & time trial
Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing)

You do realise I am joking? Armstrong tweeted after Tyler ratted him out and admitted doping during his entire career something along the lines of:

"Contratulation to Ekimov for the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics".

ha ha ha ha....they're going to try and drag out the old Lemond/ Steph tape as evidence....honestly, beer just came out my nose I laughed so much.:D

Ok, if this is a sign of things to come....I'd say he's sleeping soundly in Cap Ferrat tonight.

He's not sleeping soundly. He's thinking about the vast (really vast) sums of money he is paying his bloodsucking lawyers minute by minute. He's uncertain about his future endorsement potential. He's feeling isolated and besieged.

Dude, I merely suggested 17 tests was plenty. Please point out to me where I suggested their "evidence" was not based on UCI tests.

It matters little who did the tests....as well you know....the point is the information has been freely available to them since 09, and yet they have only now, three years later, a year after he retired, just after the federal case has collapsed, spotted the anamolies....wow...go figure.

How come they let him ride in 2010? Were USADA covering up too? Maybe they are now trying to cover their own butts? Conspiracy I say:confused:

Ok, you said it was "plenty" and then said
straydog said:
plenty enough to be able to ascertain values consistent with manipulation surely? ?Just, obviously, really really slowly.

And considering Armstrong did most of his racing outside the US, I'd say it counts as plenty.

And how many did he have in total?
So, if you know that the UCI do the BP why do you bring up the "plenty" of USADA tests?

As to why did they (meaning USADA) let him ride in 2010?
can you provide a link to "the point is the information has been freely available to them since 09"?
Or did you just make that up?

Credit where credit is due, and all that.

Andy....they do....in the clip....shhh....drum roll

iiiiits....Greggy!!!!

oh:cool: that tape? the one he recorded when he called Steph because he said he was recording threatening phone calls made to him

as I said this is their "new" evidence of the HGH use prior to 96. Whats the betting that ABC starts reporting that "former friends have started turning against him"...only for us to discover it's just Betsey whining on again.

I really can't wait to see how much Tryhard, USADA and their PR idiots are going to b@lls this up!:D

I didn't mention Saiz because he didn't ride for Saiz till Once, after '96.

I hope to see Twitter light up with various riders getting congratulations this November for moving up the placings.

Indurain will be surprised to become world champion 1993.

Mas normally I give you a couple of bites on your massive pedantry....but honestly life's too short. If you're trolling was at least amusing I'd give it another go, but it's just tiresome and really tedious. Sorry.

so finally....You brought up the USADA's testing, not me, or anyone else

I think people will realize that this guy made a mint from selling false hope to cancer victims, which places him in a whole different circle of dopers.

Charming:

We will laugh. Then we will shrug. Then — nothingness.

Lance Armstrong will be invisible.

As he should be.

New Foxsports Article

Don't think this has been posted yet:

New article on Foxsports at 5:01 pm EDT:

The duality of Lance is unsettling

"...That’s actually sickening. It’s mean-spirited. He is playing off people’s belief in him, and they believe because of his cancer fight... if he is, he’s the worst sports cheat we’ve ever had, the lowest..."

That.

Dave.

I don't think 17 tests over 3 years is "plenty" - if SD does then we can disagree.

But i am trying to see exactly what point they are trying to stick with - that USADA were incompetent because they did not spot this manipulation of blood
or that USADA did not catch him because they did loads (or "plenty') of tests.

Have you been so completely won over that that is the best you can counter me with? Good work.

Problem there is that Lance turned around and changed a load of values on that (IIRC 13 in total) - so its about as meaningful as your points.

It stretches belief enough just to think that a cancer survivor went into the world’s dirtiest, doping-cheat-filled sport and dominated for seven years as the only clean guy out there.

At first, this seems like another waste of taxpayer money, as the government does help to fund the USADA. Bonds got off, and the Clemens trial is a farce.

This is different, though. That was the government, which could have been focusing on other things. The USADA is a sports anti-doping agency, and Armstrong is an athlete with doping accusations. This is actually what the USADA is here for.

The eyes are opening.

Not really. It's just the beginning of the "tear 'em down" phase of the "build 'em up / tear 'em down" story line. And after that comes the "redemption" story line.

It's only sports, after all.

The USADA action has freed the media hounds from the fear of lawsuit.

Nope...but if it helps you thinking that, be my guest.

My signature may give you a clue as to how long I have been posting here.

As to your last point, I'd agree with you about the redemption story being the final episode in all of this, if there was a confession, which I very much doubt.

Trust me, if there was a tearful Oprah interview where they went over to Germany and found Jan living in a shack skinning wild boars to make into shirts, and Lance handed him his yellow jerseys tearfully, and as he shook his hand and made to walk away, Jan said "Ah come one give me a hug!", then I am pretty sure even the most hardened forumite would be wiping away a tear. And if he came on here, I can see the flurry of "former" haters lining up to praise his honesty and bravery for confronting the truth....but....it aint gonna happen.

Yes...the story is being played out as you say...built up...torn down (by some) and for some he will always be the pantomime villain, whatever the outcome, and for others he will always be an inspiration.

FREE JERRY SANDUSKY!

1) He never tested positive for pedophilia. He has steadfastly denied the charges. The only evidence against him is from witnesses who have a financial interest at stake. Some of these witnesses have criminal records.
2) Most of the charges against him relate to incidents that occurred more than ten years ago. America has made reforms that make this behavior much less likely now. We should forget the past and move on.
3) If he wasn’t caught after committing hundreds of acts of abuse on dozens of victims, this says that the justice system is a joke. Prosecuting him calls attention to this, which is bad for the image of the system.
4) To prosecute Sandusky is unfair, because many other pedophiles have done the same thing and they are being allowed to get off.
5) His trial is very expensive, and involves taxpayers’ money. We have many more urgent needs for this money.
