I honestly forgot Roglic won the Vuelta
Just as I clicked the single vote for Pogicar I saw the Five votes thingy and was figuring on going back clicking change vote but that wasn't and option LOL.Ah, sorry: I should have remembered seeing that. Out of respect for those who have already voted, I won't change it now, and we will see how wrong the decision to omit Philipsen is thought to be.
Incidentally: 9 voters so far, 25 votes: what part of "Which 5 riders would get your votes" was difficult to understand"
Just like me!Just as I clicked the single vote for Pogicar I saw the Five votes thingy and was figuring on going back clicking change vote but that wasn't and option LOL.
I would have voted for Pogi, MVDP, Rog, Fish packer (LOL) and the next Belgium Merx.
I believe the answer is that the award could be made in any cycling discipline (in the first year that there was a separate women's award, 2022, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot came third, and did no UCI road race at all that year), but the panel who make the shortlist rarely, if ever, offer the chance to vote for non-road riders.Random question - in a world with no mutants, i.e. nobody wins even 2 major races and the TdF winner has a really lacklustre season outside of that, do we ever give Velo d'Or to Lavreysen?
Have now changed it so that your selection can be edited (change vote button at bottom right). I presume that will also allow uncast votes to be made.Just as I clicked the single vote for Pogicar I saw the Five votes thingy and was figuring on going back clicking change vote but that wasn't and option LOL.

Must be weird, he had the best season he could possibly imagine. And still won nowt.Nice to see O’Conner in the poll recognising his successful season. Didn’t vote for him though: Pog, MVDP, Remco, Roglic and Vingegaard.
Until none of them have a single win during a season? How long until one of Pog, Vingo, Remco, VdP, doesn't win?
Don't win the Velo d'or.Until none of them have a single win during a season?
5-10 years.

It was the first major victory for 12 of the 18 riders. It was the only major victory (so far) for 8 of those 12 riders. It's hard to believe now but in 2018 and 2019 nobody won 2 major races. The 18 major races in those 2 seasons were won by 18 different riders.
Well at least Pogi rocked up, Lottle was apparantly delivering Santa's present and Harry was getting sweaty in London. So in the end, unsurprisingly, Pogacar got it.
And if Luis Ángel Maté hadn't just retired, he would have just become my favourite cyclist: check out his speech (turns out I can understand French much better when a Spaniard is speaking it than when a Frenchman does)
Blasé or amnesiacs I suppose ... (love the fact Tonton never posts before midnight - chapeau!)5% of the voters didn't have Pogacar in their top-5 according to the poll. It reminds me of a poll on French TV in the '80s: "have you ever visited the Eiffel Tower?" and 2% didn't know...

Tbf the Eiffel Tower is quite underwhelming and not as impressive as it's made out to be, I found it very underwhelming! Perhaps the 2% are those that went, but were underwhelmed and so have doubt in their minds over if it really was the Eiffel Tower or if they accidentally went to some cheap knock-off, as there is still some doubt about that in my mind at least5% of the voters didn't have Pogacar in their top-5 according to the poll. TBH, I'm also not sure about all the places I visited as a kid, sometimes I can have conflicting memories about that period, I can imagine someone else not being sure as well, it's not as werid as some of you may think.5% of the voters didn't have Pogacar in their top-5 according to the poll.
