i am hoping he can make one more step ahead, he needs 1 min on Froom, final chance is tomorrow.

And thanks to Nibali, without him this tour is just boring as hell. (GC concerned)
make it 2 minutes... at least.

He might even try to go on the Balès. Final 5km of the descent are allegedly very technical. Then just 14km till the finish.

I don't think he would blow anyway, since he's in a great form. Worst case scenario: Sky train catch him on the ascent to Peyragudes and nothing changes.

Let's hope this is the case. Nibali always seems up for putting in a dig. (He's the only GCer who has consistently tried to break SKY.) Maybe he should have won the Giro this year instead of aiming for a TTer's Tour. His presence would have livened May up, I think.

True but he wanted a shot at the Tour in the year Contador was not there.

Still he's probably goìng to be the first italian to have podiumed all three GTs in a long time. Which is quite an achievement considering he's never been regarded as a super talent.

The guy will have 3 GT podiums and 3 monument podiums by the end of the year. ;)

Yeah, I already considered him to be a big talent back in 2006. Same year I became a fan of Contador. :D

It's a shame he can't find someone to work with and really make this interesting.

After the talk from JVdB about forming an alliance, I guess all he was able to do was talk. It'd definitely been more interesting if he had attacked as well.

Am i the only one in here who thinks Nibali looks quite explosive when he attacks? People allways say he doesn't like pace changes but i think he attacks quite hard

I don't think he minds pace changes so much. He's not a Basso.
In fact, I actually think his main problem is keeping a stable high pace after attacking.

he's really a warrior- He put a fight in every race his in-I just hope the best for him in his new chapter with Astana- he really deserves a Giro & a Tour in his palmares.

Exactly. That was also his problem in early years when he wasn't as strong. He'd go with every attack and then blow up. And now he is strong enough to attack himself but can't keep the pace. What happened to him as well in LBL.

But at least he is trying. Without Nibali this Tour would be dead

I kind of wish he had stayed with Liquigas though. For me in an ideal world the top Italian stage racer should be with an Italian team. I can't see how Astana will be an improvement over Liquigas. Plus I'm partial to Cannondale having ridden them for years and still owning 3 of them, so I took an additional pleasure watching Nibali riding one. Maybe he decided that with Sagan in the team he wouldn't be able to get the support he wanted in his chosen races plus they would likely be bumping heads in MSR, Ardennes Week and in GdL.
