Funny how commentators talking about this is very standard Nibali and he did the exact same thing in 2014 when he won - forgetting that he played with peak Froome and peak Contador on Col du Béal....

He attacked Froome and Contador on the flat with some 28 km to go just to blow up on the final climb in the last stage. Still finished seventh GC. This year it's nowhere near that shape but I'm not too worried.

Yeah, I wouldn´t be worry about :) I was worried much more during whole Giro 2016 before he did move on Agnelo, even when Chavez attacked there there before him, I never would put any money that he can win

Dude. There is tomorrow

And if tomorrow is bad then there's the nats.

and if the nats are bad, then there's the first week of the Tour

and if the first week is bad then there's cobbles

and if the cobbles are bad then there's the Alps

and if the Alps are bad then there's the magical third week

and if the magical third week looks bleak and Nibali doesn't drop everyone by minutes on Col de Tourmalet, then maybe we can hit the panic button

Volpi yesterday at Radiocorsa said hat all is going as planned and he's following Slongo's training tables.
I think they planned to start not at 100% because he stressed that there aren't mountain stages in the first week.
The team it's not fully decided yet, they have to decide if Navardauskas will ride.

Nibali said that they know how to work to be in top shape so he's relaxed but it's not true that he doesn't feel anymore the pressure at this point of his career.
About Roubaix stage he said that it's not a stage where they can do something or attack.
About Sky he said that it's difficult to attack them because they don't have domestiques but captains used as domestiques for their team leader, only under special circumstances it's possible to attack them.
About the Giro maybe he could ride next year but it's early to say now.

How's the coffee Vincenzo?

On another note Pellizotti says he's in good shape but Nibali is in "stratosferica" form and they'll have a "mini-Sky" team at the Tour with Pozzo and the Izagirre brothers (who were fantastic in the Spanish championships). Next, the Italian Championships on Saturday, Nibali is ready:

“I will arrive to this race after the Passo San Pellegrino’s training camp and just a few days before the start of the Tour. I already won the road race title two times and I will try to win one more time because wearing for one year the national champion jersey is a great goal for any Italian rider. I don’t know the route, but they told me that will be very tough. Our team is very strong and we will be able to choose different solutions in the finale”.

If they told him it's very tough he was misinformed, it's the 2016 circuit.
There is the possibility to attack on the short wall near the finish but we've seen in 2016 that even a sprinter like Nizzolo could follow attacks there and outsprint who is with him.

It's different. Will quote myself from a few pages before:

. It will be held in Darfo Boario Terme, 238 km total and quite different from when Giacomo Nizzolo won in 2016. Cassani asked for a tougher race so first there will be four laps of a circuit 25.4 each with the climbs Gianico 1.2 km at 6.5% and the murito Via Cornaleto 330m at 17% for eight times. Then the second circuit again four times with the climb Berzi Inferiore, 2Km at 6% with 10% parts and again the murito, last time at 2.5 km to finish.

While it's more suited to someone like Ulissi, TBM will have 10 riders and if they ride for Nibali it's possible to win.

They changed the first part (in 2016 there was a long climb to Ponte di Legno instead of the first circuit) but the final circuit is the same, Berzi Inferiore is 4,5% of slope, only Mareczko will be dropped here.

If Cassani said that was tougher inflating the slope of climbs he was doing PR, all will be decided in the last lap on the short wall like in 2016, if nothing exceptional will happen before.

Anyone followed the Italian championship: Why did Vincenco finished so far behind?

On a course that Viviani won on and at a time when he is probably tapering for the TdF, I'd guess he just kept out of trouble and rolled round in the bunch.
I think he said to Gazetta that he was covered by Moscon everytime he moved and thus utlimately decided that he was pleased with Pozzo and Visconti in the lead group.

This. He tried a few moves but was heavily controlled mainly by Moscon. Slongo:" “The route was less demanding than we expected and it was clear that Vincenzo was too controlled. We tried with Domenico and Giovanni but they found a super Viviani on their way “.
