I thought this was a good stage for him and he delivered. Very unfortunate that he crashed when following Froome, he looked great. I'm very afraid for the 65km stage though, even if he improves in the third week.

I think he was the strongest on Alpe. Could've won the stage. heroic stuff to come back and limit the loses. It ain't over till it's over.

Apparently Nibali has confirmed that it was a motobike.
Great news, so the time gap gets neutralized, right?
On Italian TV right now, saying that he was feeling great, the first attack was just to test the waters and to see how the others would react, saying that things like that can happen with all those fans and the situation is a bit different, because back then Froome was wearing the Yellow Jersey. :(

So we basically have confirmation that rules don't matter, only who is screwed over?

Dude still finished at 13s because the front slowed down. So all in all it could've been way worse.

With Thomas, Froome and Dumoulin all being not certain for week 3, he is the 1st after that

If the GPS was right and he really was so far back he did an incredible job even if they slowed down. They had him 10s in front of Quintana at 3 km to go.

how many certainties. he would have won, he was the strongest. meh.
he was certainly good, but many times they stopped in front. we will see him in the last week
Why do you think they stopped? To ***** wait for him? It was a stage that suited him, he is obviously in good form and when he is, nobody drops him on multi mountain hard ridden long stages. Not even Froome.

Very much doubt it could have been worse. He was certainly better than Landa. That said, I agree that he could only close the gap because everyone was slowing down, but I still think there is a chance he could have won today.

I didnt wanna join all the pessimism so i hope y all see now he still got it. He was the only one with froome and thomas when it happened. I think we owe nibs way more credit then was on display here.

He simpy isn`t as good on the shorter stages...give him 2-3 HC climbs and 180kms and no one can drop him.
