If throwing baits was directed at me, well i only quoted a post because Max said you should hate Froome not Nibali.

For a moment I though you become Froom die-hard fan. LOL Nibali is a likable both as a person or a rider, I hope your attitude towards him will improve.

That's very true, one of the reasons I'm a big fan of him.

I think it's because a lot of people on this forum tend to overrate him and his performances (imo). A lot of people hate Alberto also because of that.

:D Touché!
example that i remembered: gift the stage win to Tirolongo in the Giro 2011

That was more of a favor or service for Tiralongo than a gift. Truly extraordinary.

I don't know other people, but Nibali is performing as I expected. And I hope he will challenge Contador in the Tour one day.:D

Ha, funny evening... Basso at home, treating his b*tt with creme, Wiggins at home, drinking beer, Lance at home, forgotten by everyone, and Nibali dominating the Giro. That´s cycling as it should be.

Thanks to guys like Aquarone and McQuaid for fighting through dark times and saving this beautiful sport, and for defending it against hypocrites like Kimmage or Jaksche.

Beat me, but that´s my opinion.

Nibali is a great leader of the Giro, I hope he wins it, it looks promising, but still one hard week to go.

Exactly, this is what I expected, maybe even a bit less but in no way it surprised me. And I don't really think it surprised many posters. So I don't get them. But don't mind me I don't get myself either most of the time.

Yeah, he guarantees stability in a sport where there are 100 different lobby groups. He´s the man who keeps everything solid and running. As a person, an absolute idiot, but he´s good for cycling, he does his job well. At least I don´t know who´d do it better.

Personally I'd like to see him win the Tour; after Bertie is retired :)

Still a hard week to go in this race, but he hasn't shown any signs of weakness. Fell 2xs on a descent, gets up and puts 1m+ into Wiggins, rides a great TT (for him), has problem with compact and gets left on a climb, calmly fixes it and comes second taking boni seconds from Evans, drops rivals uphill today.

Still a long way to go and anything can happen, his team is weak and now down one, illness rampant, crashes happen, so do bad days. But so far he is Owning it.

Nibali could win the Tour one day, if he keeps improving, but I don't think he will improve that much. 2 or 3 years of Froome and then the new generation will take over, I think that's what will happen.

In reality it's hard to know how good Froome is so he shouldn't be used as some type of yardstick yet. Last years Tour was very light on climbing. He was tired at the Vuelta.

Plus we still don't know how good Froome is in the Cold, or how good he is given many hard mountain stages in a row. Plus it seems he might be as bad as Bradley when it comes to handling a bike.

That is true, but so far Froome has been better than Nibali on MTF's, Nibali is stronger on the hills but in the tour there are mostly mountain stages. I think in the Giro Nibali could actually win vs Froome.

Yea, I mean it's not like he has posted it before.

wwabbit, I use the verb "to hate" a lot instead of "to dislike", just like "to love" instead of "to like". But as I said, I don't really hate anyone except Hitler.

It will be Nibbles vs Quintana and hopefully Contador at next years' Tour.

I think that is a good place to end all of this meta.
