Don't you think the Tour would invite them as well since Nibbes is the defending champion?

Why? Happened to Astana already in 2008
(albeit the circumstances were different as UCI and ASO were almost at war back then)

And also AC moved into a different team...circumstances were a little different then.

Yep. Sounds bad. Giro will invite them though I think so we'll get to see Nibs vs. Contador after all.
Very bad. He might not even ride at all next year. :(

I think Sayar and Novikov will be eligible to ride next year as well :p

Nibali should be able to get a contract on a PT team if he's willing to take a paycut. I don't think a large part of his salary is payed for by specialized like Contador though

I wonder if BMC will give him a call, Evans is retiring and Tejay cannot win any european stage race.

This would be a pretty good solution, if he can get a contract where he is cheap the first year and normally priced after that (area of 3 mill a year).

I will be very happy if he can ride for an American team. But seriously, Astana will get the license. The worst way is they get it though Katusha path.

This is how it should be, let nibali go on the program.

You crush a man on the bike, no excuses.

Bring on the ***-kicking. 3rd place best case scenario :);):p

It will indeed be hard to win it but he'll fight for it, no doubt. I'd say he has chances to finish higher than 3rd.

He could finish 1st, 5th, 10th, or no where...anything could happen (this applies to everyone.) If everyone comes in good form I think CF would beat him. Can't say with Quintana...he is still pretty young - if he gets even better next year I think he to would beat Nibbes, but that remains to be seen. The other thing is Astana still treading on very thin ice with the UCI and WADA. In that area anything could still happen as well.

He'll be closer to a podium place if he rides just for the podium.
He could end up falling off of the podium if tries to free climb to the top spot.

Cool Skyline Drive video. I'm in NC but from NY and drive back a few times a year to see my family. One of these days...I'll stop and jump on the bike and meet the wife and the car at the top.

A few weeks ago was on the way back to NC after Thanksgiving. Had the good fortune to get "caught" behind a group of V.Tech and other college dudes. I played the dutiful DS and held the other drivers at bay. Double yellow, curvy as heck, no good place to pass. But...I was happy to watch them ride and wish I was out there.

(this was the other side of the valley, heading towards River Road)

Not surprising, it has been terribly overrated imo so I'm more surprised by the fact it only won by 6%. Anyway, hopefully this *** hype will have faded in a few years.

Couple of those don't really belong in the top 10 imo. Was always gonna be that stage vs Contador in Vuelta or in Tirreno. I guess a rider can only get one nomination?

I guess they simply forgot about Tirreno just like many other polls. Why on earth would anyone nominate Contador's Vuelta win over the Tirreno win. It makes zero sense. I mean, I've even seen someone nominate stage 16 alone. Wtf? How does that even come close to what he did at Tirreno?

I'm also surprised Andy got more than 0 votes.
