Vingegaard vs Pogačar - The Duel

This is normal trash talking in the middle of a race. Or you guys think the other riders don't talk s*** in the peloton?
In fact I want to see this trash talking from Vingegaard as well. I don't like his robotic nature.
I find the comment Pogacar made to Remco about Roglic more disrespectful than some bad words in the middle of a race.

Is there a clip of this anywhere?

He is really a killer. He doesn't want to lose by any means and he isn't that friendly like people think but saying he is arrogant or cocky? Lol. He is very respectful to everyone, he already showed that multiple times.
He also said (to Nils off the record) Vingegaard feels nervous without teammates around him. It's clear they don't like each other despite being very respectful towards each other when they talk to the media, etc. But this what makes sports great. For some reason this is the best cycling rivalry I ever witnessed and we should be proud Vingegaard is there to stop Pogacar sometimes. I'm truly grateful to have both of them fighting so many years for the Tour.

The needle is fine, it's more entertaining when things get a bit heated anyway.

Perhaps they were just frustrated, but if him and Evenepoel really don't understand why Vingegaard shouldn't pull in that situation then they are staggeringly dimwitted. Day 1 week 1 of cycling school.
I agree. But people can also be cajoled into actions that aren't in their best interest, and trying to make that happen isn't necessarily a bad tactic. Remco does a lot of that, probably to his detriment. Roglic isn't going to give in to badgering, for example, but language, body language, etc. are all valid bike racing tools, IMO.

Controversy erupts as Evenepoel and Pogacar take jab at Roglic: "You shouldn't be afraid of him"

"Evenepoel seemed to make a good move in the general classification on Wednesday, finishing just 25 seconds behind Jonas Vingegaard and Pogacar and gaining another half a minute on Roglic. Roglic had slipped and fell in the last kilometer, but the jury applied the three-kilometer rule, giving him the same time.
"Those rules are part of racing, no problem," Evenepoel told Sporza. However, behind the podium, he showed more emotion when talking to Pogacar. "It was half a minute, that's quite a lot," we hear him say in recorded footage. Pogacar then leans in and whispers to his friend. "You shouldn't be afraid of him," said the yellow jersey wearer"

This is how pogacar is "respectfull" for his rivals. He also talked not nice things from WVA.

He pretends to be someone who he really isn't in terms of sportmanship and being a example.
As Roglic fan, I didn't like this. I do think Pogacar was trying to manipulate Remco into liking him, viewing him as the leader, etc., but I could be wrong. Remco definitely should be afraid of Roglic.

Was Vingegaard riding super defensively on stage 9? Yes he was, to the frustration of Remco and Pogacar and almost all the viewers. We had an epic stage on our hands, but Vingegaard decided to play it super conservative.
Because Vingegaard had a team perfectly suited to this terrain so he decided to use it rather than to play to Pogi's strengths and make it a mano a mano. Not to mention that he was riding on someone else's bike at this point. Riding along would just have been massively stupid. Nothing more frustrating to watch than people racing stupidly... but to each his own I guess.

A lot of things are more frustrating in fact and I think the far far majority of neutral fans would have enjoyed it a lot if the three of them were battling against each other on their own for the rest of the stage.
Funny, I seem to remember a lot of people being quite frustrated with how Saturday's stage in the Giro panned out... because of how stupid Carapaz and Del Toro rode. Vingegaard cooperating on that particular stage would have been equally stupid in my book, and his choice was vindicated when it was his team who saved him from getting dropped by Pogi later on in the stage.

It was the correct move no doubt! Not criticizing him one bit, but spectators wouldnt be frustrated by it he chose to ride with them. On the contrary, I argue.

I didn't say poor judgement is not frustrating, but it is not among the top 5 most frustrating things we see in races. Also, that Giro ending was exceptional.

Any spectator who has more than 0 cycling brain shouldn't be frustrated with Vingegaard in this stage.
I would say that it would be equally frustrating to ride with them, as he opens himself to be dropped (on a terrain that favours Pogacar massively) and lose potentially minutes that effectively decide the Tour.

I agree 100% but it is also understandable to be frustrated with the lack of agressiveness showed by Vingegaard. He is a racer and loves to race, on the other hand Vingegaard is not like that and he tries to do mind games with Pogacar.
We just can't pretend he is evil because he got frustrated. That's just pure hate.

Pogacar saying "*** you" in that moment is such a nothingburger. How are people making a big thing out of this? The next headline will be him looking at Jonas menacingly. Then he will have finally pushed it too far.
Those people making a big deal out of it have not raced once in their lives, it's normal it happens in every race. Some fans live vicariously through Vingegaard and get offended on his behalf.
