Well ahead?

Vino:
Olympic RR (gold and silver)
2*L-B-L
Classic
Vuelta
Tour podium
Stage-races and stages

Gilbert:
WC RR
L-B-L and 2*GdL
Classics and semi-classics
Stages

I mean compared to Vino when he was 30 years old. Didn't make that very clear lol.

Vino won Paris-Nice 2 times, Tour de Suisse and Amstel Gold Race at the same age. It's not really a fair comparison if someone is 9 years older you know.

What does that have to do with anything?

Paolo Bettini is a bigger star than Vino and never won a GT or podiumed the Tour. So is Tom Boonen.

Do I give a damn about when Vino became a pro? Nope, his palmares is what it is. The fact that he became a pro very late also made it possible for him to have a longer career at old age.

Gilbert right now is well ahead of Vino though. :)

who is talking here about bettini or boonen? we are comparing vino and gilbert. also I rate vino's carere way higher than boonen

besides, has gilbert podiumed yet the tour? Or won the vuelta? Or do you think he will ever do that?

...... Nice logic :)

Vino becoming pro later made it possible for him to still be competitive at age 39.

It's silly to declare a rider in his prime worse than a retired rider. Vino fans are getting really desperate and Gilbert doesn't even have anything to do with Vino bribing Kolobnev.

It's like someone saying Sagan is a nobody compared to Gilbert. You catch my drift. ;)

Vino love here is so silly, his fans most really be depressed he retired haha.

So Vino started later and retired later than Gilbert (we think), but should be compared at the same age and not at the same season as a pro?

If we say that Gilbert will have a career just as long as vino's, then he would only have 2 seasons left, while vino at 30 had 8.

therefore flawed logic. Either their whole career, or it matters that vino started later.

It's reality. I'm also not taking into consideration his doping ban, own fault buddy.

Even if you're counting seasons, he still has 5 more seasons than Gilbert.

I've already said that argument is useless since vino became pro at age 24 instead of age 19. and gilbert will never win what he has won before. sagan will see to that

Gilbert didn't became pro at age 19 either, so that is also a useless argument. According to your logic Sagan is a nobody and will never amount to anything. He hasn't won anything close to what Phil won and became pro sooner.

he became pro at 20. yes massive difference with 19 and throws out that argument completely

Gilbert (2003-2012) 10 seasons
Vino (1998-2007 July and 2009 August-2012) 13 seasons

He got banned for a reason lol. And even then it's still 14 seasons as he raced in 2009.

Let's also remove all his results he gained before his ban then if you're not counting doping bans. Because I'm sure he won quite a bit more then he normally would've with his doping program. ;)

Turning 21 a few months later. ;) He was still racing some U23 races in his first year as a pro. Just like Vino raced professional races in 1997.

Vino was also a stagaire in 1997 for Casino, what's your point?

And it's not a lie that he turned 21 years old a few months after he became pro.

When Phil is retiring than you can compare them, before that just shut up lol. It still won't change the fact that Vino bribed Kolobnev to win LBL in 2010.

Yeah vinos best friend Gilbert destroys rebellins and cunegos and franks and schumachers etc times up the cauberg by being totally clean. Makes sense:rolleyes:

Vinokourov is not his best friend, why do you keep saying that?

Of course Schumacher's and Rebellin's times were slower. Watch a race before you talk about it lol.

Sorry, i don't care how you try and spin it, becoming a pro late is a tremendous disadvantage not an advantage.

Yeah, but blood transfusions with someone else's blood gives you a tremendous advantage as well. When Phil is retired you can compare him to Vino. He's still in his prime now.

Vinos post ban results show he would have been just as competitive in a "clean" 2000's era.
