No Lombardia

Bummer that Vino won't ride Lombardia but certainly understandable. Can't begrudge the guy his fear of injury and maybe even Vino could get temporarily embarrassed - not from being dropped from the lead group racing the Falling Leaves, but rather, embarrassed after destroying said lead group whilst pedaling one-legged. Who knew Vino possessed not just unequaled strength, but unequaled modesty?! ;)

Oh s**t, have to wait his comeback for a couple of more weeks.

e. Not actually weeks but one day.

@Python: Kessiakoff was much better than Kash.

Also they are developing a strong team. Brajkovic, Kreuziger ( should get on a podium of a GT sometime soon ), Kessiakoff, Masciarelli, Tiralongo and Kash. Vino being there will enable them to have a wide spread of riders. However with Vaitkus and Davis going they now have limited chances in sprints. And Clarke is possibly the next Ardennes Classics star

Ahh, but please don't forget they've added my old nemesis, Bozic...he is worth 2-3 Davis's...

vino just doing the usual lately aka acting like a boss

kasheckinn talks about vino and more…(an ok translation by google)
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http://www.caravan.kz/article/36417&sl=ru&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8

claims that vino and him are neither friends nor foes but that he’s p’off at some of vino’s deeds and words.

indirectly points finger at 'someone' (vino ?) for his problems at the last vuelta ('i did not sleep several nights, someone didn’t want me there‘) yet claims that valverde attributed vino’s win at the vuelta’06 to kash’s support

claims that hundreds of thousands of his salary went fraudulently to a former astana manager

claims in due time to reveal true reasons why contador left astana for a smaller salary at saxobank

(personally, i'd really like kash let his legs do the talking)

sure vino is aware that kash is a designated leader and ...........
as if to intentionally to deliver a dig vino is quoted in today's astanafans.com

it will be fun next year when they will chase each other(of course if kash will somehow come back at a good level).
some little good drama won't hurt anybody.

Has Vino announced what he's riding in 2012? I follow him on FB but most of his posts are not in English, sadly...

Revived and Running for Office!

I think he said somewhere he will concentrate on classics.

Concentrate on being classic is more like it! I love Vino! He's now put forth as a candidate for parliament.

Vino is the man, as they say. He's no more or less moral or ethical than any other normal human being - he's just not normal. Honorary colonel in the Kazakh army and People's Hero First Class...genuine national hero in his country and a family man as well. Vino should be a shoe-in for office. I'd vote for him ahead of any of the buffoons in politics here.

The subtle shift towards focusing on developing younger riders and creating opportunities for them in European cycling is all part of the plan (just don't expect him to admit directly to doping and apologize unequivocally for it). My only question is would he have to move his residence from France back to the Kazakhstan or could he commute?

BTW: would anyone be interested in helping me rewrite just the introduction to the Vino wikipedia article? It's factually correct (At first glance) but it's totally not worthy of the man and isn't even a very good intro from a technical perspective.

I think it's fine. What kind of rewrite you want?

I'd add his remark "i felt power of two men" about his PN victory.

Maybe a little bit more about the foundation of the team and his Vuelta win...

I hate moment's of inspiration or passion. I just spent much longer than I'd wanted to doing a rewrite of the intro, but it still could be compacted a bit or streamlined. The article itself needs major editing to make it more easily readable. It's full of great info that needs to be prioritized and enhanced by some quotes and pictures, etc.

ANyway, off to bed now. Vino4-ever! :D

So you would vote for him basically because he is a cyclist and because he has an interesting character not knowing what he or his party stand for?
