Takes a cheat to love a cheat I suppose. I don't think you of all people can throw things like this in people's faces.

Yet the same people who love Vino and refuse to criticise him have no problems in calling out Sky when they win. Hypocrites the lot of yee and don't pretend yee are not.

I would'nt listen to a word again out of yere mouths and that's the truth.

What a legend!!!! A more than fitting and poetic end to great career. Also a great result for Uran & Colombia although I can't help imagining Vino yelling "Here they come just before he launched his race winning sprint, leaving Rigoberto out of position and surprised by Vino's move. Vino would've gotten it anyway-it appeared had the better legs at the end.

I can't help but be happy at how it turned out with the seeming inevitable nature of a Cavendish win, ending in the Sky/GB train derailing in the end.

i think he should continue. i hope this gold medal changes his mind, and we have him for a last season in 2013, riding a golden bike in the classics and the Tour

Jan Ullrich is very happy about Vino's Gold

"Nach 12 Jahren schafft Vino das Ungalubliche-die Olympische Goldmedaille! Es tut mir natürlich leid für unsere deutsche Medaillenhoffnung André Greipel, aber für meinen Freund Vino freue ich mich sehr. Für ihn und sein Land bedeutet dieser Sieg unglaublich viel"

"Twelve years later Vino does the the incredible, he wins the gold medal. Of course i feel sorry for our hope Andre Greipl. but i am so happy for my friend Vino. For him and his country this victory means so incredibly much!"

No matter what your opinion of Vino, he is one of the biggest names in the sport over the past 10 years. Everyone has an opinion on him and this is what creates popularity. Along with his type of racing, this makes for viewing. He is a rock star. He creates discussion. IN basketball, people either love Lebron or hate (mostly for his televised decision to Miami) but again he makes you watch.

Vino will be missed, especially by us fans, and his place in the peleton will be missed.

They should make a movie about Vino.

Make it 7 hour epic covering everything: from soviet training camp to collapse and first years in France and Casino, Kivilev's career (4th in TDF) and death and Vino's dedication to win damned race that took his friend's life, T-Mobile years: Voigt, Ulle, Kloden, Zabel, and all t-mobile Sydney win. Botero. Tours, LBLs, Amstels, Astana, traumas and overcoming...

Scorcese, get on it! :D
