Finally Peacock has live pictures with 70km to go - I can only presume they'll do the same tomorrow, so no need to plan to turn the TV on earlier tomorrow.

The fight for position will start early today, probably already with 25K to go, because the coast road is constantly up, down, left, right, which means all the GC teams will fight to be at the front early, while all the teams with a puncheur candidate for today want the same.

Uno-X is all in for Cort today, but his big Achilles' heel is positioning, so it will be interesting to see how they solve it - I predict they will try to take the front with 10K+ to go and then keep hammering it until the bottom of the final 600m climb.

The Red Bull helmet on Pidcock confuses me, I thought maybe they were showing Remco, but then looking closely at the facial hair it's like, nope, that's not Remco. (It occurred to me to check the jersey only after checking the facial hair.)

apart from positioning, Cort also seems to struggle to find his form nowadays, and his good days become less every year.

On paper, this is a great finish for him, but in Sanremo the other day he still finished 100+ positions further behind than last time. So I'd think his shape is the biggest question mark right now.

Anyone know this finish well? Who it suits? Looks uphill from the profile?
Same finish as the last several years I think?

Versatile sprinter/puncheur, a GC guy would have to be incredible shape to take it imo.

Positioning important coming off the descent, Schultz beat Pogacar a couple of years back when Williams dropped the wheel.

Yeah halfway between an uphill sprint and a punchy finish, positioning in the last descent will be important. Expect Pidcock or Godon to take it
