Movistar doesn't seem like such a bad team for the time trial. Or at least not to make such a drastic change.

Everyone started on a road bike. That's what they agreed on.
The decision not to record times and bikes was made jointly by the teams and the organizer.

Wouldn't really call it a drastic change. He is still over half a minute behind Vacek. The bigger surprise is how rarely Norsgaard has shown his obvious TT prowess in recent years. But there aren't really that many pan-flat TTs where he can shine, either. He was raving about how Lidl-Trek is so much more professional in a recent interview, so the change is likely to be good for him in any case.

Yes. The place where riders and teams should have a say is when and where the rules are made. Not when they are being applied.

All time trials are not created equal. Like with our Norsgaard discussion, Vermeersch's 15 extra kgs over McNulty do mean something in a flat, windy TT. McNulty is world class in the more lumpy time trials.McNulty gave it his all, his time trial was mediocre by his standards, or now is Vermeers a better time trialist than him?
