If Sheffield finishes in the top3 in this time trial, then he's not that dangerous  . The poor guy has a thousand crashes in time trials.

Always had huge potential in TTs. Former Danish champ and U23 WC podium. This mostly flat one suits him perfectly. And perhaps Movistar wasn't the best team in which to realize his TT potential.
Movistar doesn't seem like such a bad team for the time trial. Or at least not to make such a drastic change.

Looking forward to his post-race interview. He wasn't happy with the decision, maybe the adrenaline will show that during the interview

If they didn't want the GT be decided in the time trial, they would have designed a route like in previous years.
Don't start seeing another anti-Remco conspiracy.

remco wasn't supposed to even ride this until well after the route was announced

Wouldn't really call it a drastic change. He is still over half a minute behind Vacek. The bigger surprise is how rarely Norsgaard has shown his obvious TT prowess in recent years. But there aren't really that many pan-flat TTs where he can shine, either. He was raving about how Lidl-Trek is so much more professional in a recent interview, so the change is likely to be good for him in any case.

Romeo complaining. From what I hear some riders were complaining and it probably had an effect on the neutralization?

McNulty gave it his all, his time trial was mediocre by his standards, or now is Vermeers a better time trialist than him?

Yes. The place where riders and teams should have a say is when and where the rules are made. Not when they are being applied.

So... what are the rules? That seems to be the problem; nobody never decided any rules.

All time trials are not created equal. Like with our Norsgaard discussion, Vermeersch's 15 extra kgs over McNulty do mean something in a flat, windy TT. McNulty is world class in the more lumpy time trials.
