Horner awful. Just awful.

This is a good day.

I don't get it. Who is it that you guys are referring to as "Horner"?
Rui Sousa

At least I figured that out (after looking to see if Horner really was on the starting list  ).

Regarding another rider, Is that THE Aitor Gonzalez I'm thinking of who's racing, or someone less famous?

No unfortunately it's just his namesake :)

This is "the other Aitor González", i.e. Aitor González Prieto as opposed to Aitor González Jiménez.

To save confusion, you can just call him "Aitor González" since the main Aitor González is correctly referred to solely as THE AITORMINATOR©.

Anyway, this Aitor González is not in the robbery business, and is a guy who was one of the top amateurs in Spain last year with AMPO, since he's Basque he's joined the Murias team this year. He won the Volta a Galicia last year after winning the MTF at La Manzaneda (same one used in the 2011 Vuelta). He's a decent rider but he's already 26 so ceiling for improvement is probably comparatively limited, and has shown this year that pack skills are something that needs work. He may carve out an ok niche but I don't see him rising above the Continental level if I'm honest, which is a shame as I like him.

Thanks for the information.

Today we have 2km of sterrato and this.

Lots of attacks going on in the break. Efapel attacked the peloton and made a group just of themselves for some time until w52 brought the rest back. Moto interviewer disappeared just when he was about to start talking to Américo Silva in Efapel's team car. I think they either crashed or dropped the mic. We haven't heard them in some time.

Already more action than during the entire TDF.

Interested to see how Carthy will hold up this week. I thought Bernal was on an earlier startlist but that must've been wrong. Too early for a race like this I guess.

edit: oh Carthy isn't here either huh

Nice section before
