At least he's got something out of this Volta al Algarve.

Interesting to see if guys like G, Aru and Pinot reacted immediately, or let Contador get a gap.

Yeah, it's more than likely that they just let this second stringer get up the road given he wasn't a threat on GC ;)

My guess with Pinot is the usual diesel start, it took him time to get his rhythm, by the time he found it, Bertie was gone. His strong kick in the end would suggest that...just a guess, we shall see...

Could be indeed.

Great progress by Pinot btw. He's up there now in every race, stage race, GT and monument. Like that!!

20 seconds is huge, i hope that this advantage don't be "let contador go because he isn't a threat for gc"
Even if they did, it doesn't matter. It is likely that Contador had won anyways.

What a great day with Piti and Berto taking wins on MTF !

Zakarin still sucking :(

We all like to play the Bandwagon act concerning Zakarin.

But if you're real, that Romandie win is not a real presentation of his potential atm. His TT isn't that great, and climbing wise he's quite irregular.

If the gaps are correct Berto should beat Pinot by bonus seconds I think. Cause there was 20s between them before today.

So Romandie was just a lucky win and everything else is just hype

Tony came in 18 minutes down. Illness? It seems there was a huge peloton the first time over Malhao so for Tony to get dropped he must have a problem.

Thomas only needed to mark Izagirre on final climb, who seemingly wasn't on a great day, so I imagine Thomas could have finished a bit higher up if needed. Maybe with the Pinot, Aru group. No need to worry about the Spanish outsider taking the stage win. :p
