Sadly, I always underestimate him a little bit - mainly because he has always ridden for „weaker“ teams.

Somehow, Woods seems to be the rider which participates in almost every race that is also ridden by Valverde.

While bonus seconds are likely to decide the overall, in case of a tie stage countback will decide the GC. Valverde is at 66 and Higuita is at 31.

Back in 2012 when the race was without bonus seconds and Port Ainé was cancelled, 13 riders were tied on time for 3rd btw.

Honestly, I haven't seen enough from Van Wilder in the high mountains to have an actual opinion about his potential as a gc rider. I assume that he's more of a diesel climber, but please correct me If I'm wrong.
