la Molina is not usually a breakaway stage, but well, yeah, maybe. I guess guys like Verona or G. Martin will probably try as well, though, and they are still a bit too close in GC, resulting in a strong, but doomed break

Haig just wasn't strong enough, but I think Landa did quite well to attack when Van Wilder was at the front, as the latter then immediately faded and that made Evenepoel take up the chase of Chaves. So he got a very good scenario, but he also lacked the legs himself, unfortunately. At least Poels was good.
not sure about Mäder. He was dropped instantly (without working) yesterday, and also said he didn't feel great in stage 1 already.
Teams will likely play an important role today. Both JV and QS likely prepared to do the work. Among others. So i don't feel breakaway has much chance today.

Remco is behind and has a strong climbing team. Not trying would in my opinion be rather silly.

That went well. PCS reporting Jimbo pulling in peloton with 163 km to go.
El Jaguar de Tulcan is the man, looking about 5 kilos overweight and still having a crack, breakaway might not be happy but it's far more entertaining for us.
