Looking worrying for a competitive Giro but I get the impression a lot of the big GC guys are keeping something under the hood. Carapaz, both Yates, Steven Kruijswijk.

My view has always been that in grand tours there is Pog and Jonas in their own category, then Roglic who was joined by Remco last season, and then everyone else.

Hard to imagine that if without incident (and that is a massive if I know) any of those names will be on the same level as a fit and health Roglic. Man still has it.

I know what you mean, but hand tours is still a funny typo.

You get the sense than he didn't want to just outsprint Ayuso yesterday and that he really was ready to go balls to the wall

This turned out one of the least mountainous editions (i.a. due to yesterday's fiasco). Roglic himself said Catalunya is an honest race and legs do the talking but it was atypical this year.

Looking back I forgot Kruijswijk never won a Giro stage, looked nailed on for that MTT, you know he's cursed when ****ing Alexander Foliforov is pulling that one out of the hat.

Anyway, Roglic looks the best, but you will have to take into account the multiple crashes he's going to have early doors so maybe it will be closer than it looks at the moment.

Damn, I missed it, had no idea that it started so early! (Is it like this every year?)

Great win for Roglic! What did Ayuso do? Was he to far behind, to weak, to optimistic about Yates repairing the situation?
