Break
Ruben Plaza (OGE) - 12 mins
Swifty (Sky)10 mins
Tsatevich (Kat) over 12 minutes
De Gendt (LTS)
Weening (Roompot)
Gilbert (BMC)
Eriviti (Mov)
Ten Dam (Giant)
Durasek (LAM)

Plus one?

Swifty best placed at 10 minutes I think
No important names as a help for gc guys, might get a shot on stage win ;)

I already seen De Gent winning stages like this, if breakaway succeed I think he's favourite

he won stage 20 at giro 2012 on Stelvio after a solo breakaway, finishing on the podium that year

We haven't seen a glimpse of that De Gendt since that stage though.

Maybe today, who knows...

Another one to follow, what he did today at 21 is something to take into account.

I wonder how did he slip by Sky, being British and all.

Probably a combination of no track background and being from the British domestic scene before joining Caja Rural. After their initial season, the only four riders they've signed who have been on the British scene are Joshua Edmondson, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke, Alex Peters and Luke Rowe, and only the latter had a track background and he's clearly the only one Sky found success with (Peters is an unknown case so far).

Not everybody can be at SKY, but I am surprised he is not in ONE pro cycling. There was necessary another british team for those kind of promising riders.. for That I cant unerstand he is not there and Goss is there on holidays taking big money.

Exactly, Cunego was 2nd. Probably the best De Gent performance of his career so far

He was strong all the Giro, but especially that day...He was young still then, i we bever seena similar performance... to win today the stageis not the same, I mean, podium of the Giro, so at least top ten in a tour. He is a strong rider, but I dont hope that rider anymore... IMO, luckily.

Of course he has his chances in the stage, but I hope more from Ten Dam with this sunny day or even Plaza.

One Pro wasnt PCT last year when joined Caja (probably on a 2 year neo contract), and if I remember correctly he said something about liking an adventure to a foreign team + with Caja he could do the Spanish climbing races which he likes. If he keeps up the good work he should be joining the WT next season (if he wants to).

Talk is cheap. I'm curious to see how things go for Froome with Contador at his best. I hope we get the confrontation, if not here, then down the road.
you mean on this stage or this season as a whole? i think the chance of froome being able to keep up with contador today is minimal

Well I mean down the road but Froome is here to win. If he has shaken off the rust yesterday, it's possible he will perform stronger today. At the same time Contador is here to win and should perform well too. While AC seems to back to 2014 level, which is fortuitous. So at this point in the season, there could be a good clash already today unless, of course, Froome is still rusty. Neither are in Tour shape though, nor is Quintana, nor Aru. Let's not forget these last two either.

Does anyone have a good stream in English that doesn't have a big, "Content Can't Be Played" box in the center?

Curious to see what Quintana got in the bag today, thought he went really well yesterday given the fact that that climb didnt suit him at all compared to others

Froome doesn't have the race miles in the legs to keep up with Contador

I doubt he can smash AC in this form. It's not going to be the second mountain finish of last year, since Contador is in way better shape. At most it could be a first ascent of the 2014 Dauphine, but I doubt Froome has that kind of power presently.

On some stages he seems to be struggling and then he beats everyone. Froome is very unpredictable

I think it was a smart move of him. To go to Caja Rural.
ONE pro cycling would be more obvious, but then he wouldn't have nearly as much racing in the mountains as he has with Caja Rural. His talent is obviously climbing so better look for a team where you can show your skills.

I didn't get to watch this yesterday. Wow, Quintana's attack looked stage-winning. He completely folded when Martin went by.

Very true. You just never know.
So I'm definately not going to say Froome isn't going to win this. I wouldn't be surprised if he did his weird thing dropping, coming back, dropping, coming back and dropping all the others.

Froome usually just goes his own pace so it was quite funny yesterday when he chased down Porte. Perhaps they've re-progammed his power meter so that it has a PORTE ATTACKED alert
