They have more than just Kittel. Van Hummel is always good for a sprint win. Geniez is a massive stage race talent. Add Geschke, Hupond, Reimer, de Kort, Veelers and Curvers and you have a pretty decent team for the flat and intermediate stages.

18 teams with an automatic entry to any race are too many. That leaves almost no margin to organisers to invite those who can really make for an entertaining race.

Some cool stages I am looking forward to

Stage 8 - the finishing ramp has some pitches at around 27-28%

Stage 15 - Angliru (say no more)

Stage 17 - shorter climb but super steep. really cool stage

I don't really like la vuelta stage which are after stage 17. Seems like an anti climax.

I like the course, a 2nd ITT at the end would have been great but still nice.
The course should suit Evans, there are no marathon mountain stages and only one back to back mtf double.

it also suits nibali, if he come back to defend his title. which is highly likely

Yeah why not, I expect Nibali to skip the TdF so the Vuelta should be a favourable target.

Stage 15 looks cool btw, that climb at the end is a watchable one.

This is back to the same problem regarding teams who should be getting 2 gt invites per season max- BMC, Leopard, Quickstep, getting into all gts meaning teams which care far more about it, dont.

Very sad.

A bunch of teams deserved that gt spot.

you kidding me ? :p Il killer can't climb for shiit no more :p (which is a shame actually but he's not even half the climber he was before his suspension)

we can't know that.remember vino's first grand tour after his comeback.look at his climbing ability now, best since 2003 and 2006.
di luca needs time, you can't come back and destroy everybody in first grand tour.the things will become normal again and purito will work for him just like it should be.
