Because Purito was able to hold on, and Froome wasn't able to win by 2 minutes, then it's a bad ITT? Are you serious? Bonus seconds rule keep them coming.
You didn't get what I meant.
It was a very good ITT (and I like ITTs too). I just said that this ITT didn't provide the necessary gaps to provide some entertainment more than the 6 uphill sprints yet to come, hence I am disappointed. Nothing to do with the ITT in itself, I'm angry at the universe.

Froome and Porte starting to feel the Tour in their legs. Shame, Froome in the his Tour shape would have really taken it to Contador. Now he has no chance for the win. He needed bare minimum 1 minute buffer after the TT now he is behind he'll do well to hang onto third.

Seriously believing now Purito could win this Vuelta!!

How is Froome supposed to get a 1 minute buffer on Contador, who is himself a top class tter?

Mate what you think of Gesink he's been annonymous all race in the mountains, and i thought he'd do a good ITT and he gets beat by Purito and Valverde.

To be expected. Finsihing 5th would be good, all things considered.

Like everything in the Vuelta, this ITT was designed to minimize gaps among the favourites. That's Unipublic's idea of spectacle.

You're forgiven then. :) I'm angry at the universe because the moon landing was a hoax

Purito was great today. The longer this Vuelta goes on, the more I find/hope that the stars align to keep him in red at the end. I really hope he wins this now.

Even so, I don't think Unipublic ever dreamed of seeing Purito 7th in this ITT (although I can hear them dancing for the joy from here)

Still valverde now needs to attack. And maybe some others... Either way it's shaping up as the best gt this year.... Massive feat right

You have no reason to be angry. USADA has stripped Armstrong of his moonlanding.

What a Great Race this is turning out to be :D I'm loving every minute of it!!!

Chapeau Purito; he's come a long way in the ITT!!! Chapeau Alberto, he's getting stronger!!!

Valverde limited losses well, Froome may be tiring.

Still a 4 man race, but it looks to me that it'll turn into Alberto vs. Purito. Should either of those crash and burn, Froome and Valverde ready to pick up the pieces.

Another punchy finish tomorrow; Purito territory and bonus seconds available.

Great Show can hardly wait for tomorrow :D

Froome only lost 22 seconds, he's not done yet. Contador has won 16 time trials or something in his career. What has Froome ever won? People shouldn't act so surprised to see Contador is doing a better time trial. It might be because he's better at it. ;)

Gesink climbing like a brick again, but good on the flats/descents. He's really become a pure time trialist ;)

Good to see Rodriguez putting in a stellar ride. This speaks volumes about his form. He'll take some valuable seconds again tomorrow.

And no, I don't understand either why it's strange that Contador beats Froome in a TT. Contador is a different level than the guys he's dealt with so far.

Yall have had years to mock Unipublics approach and will have years more to do so.

This year though it has to take a backseat. This GT has been amazing.

Only changes in the top 10 were Contador and Froome swapping places and Talansky taking the 8th place of Anton who drops out of the top 10. Thought the pack might have been shuffled a bit more than that.

I really want to know about the wind today. Because Kessiakoff? On the other hand, Geesink only lost 6 seconds on the flat.

Kessiakoff, how about that. Should have played him at the bookie this morning.

The day I'll see something amazing in the Vuelta, I won't hesitate to praise whoever the responsible will be. But it's not the case yet. And imho it will never be unless the management gets wiped out.

Purito cant just chase seconds here and there if he is supposed to soon start thinking about the overall. That is a useless tactic. But lets see how the guy handles the mountain. Today should come as a warning shot.
But his main rival Contador's been doing the same, Purito's just better at it.

Besides, i dont see how it is designed to minimize gaps. Its a 53 minute effort involving all neccesary skills - sprinting through corners, technical descent, climbing and pan flat.

Plenty of time and space for stronger riders to put in big gaps. If the gaps are so small its because the weaker tters - Purito and Valverde, happen to be the ones with the best form. They did afterall finish 2nd 3rd 4th and 6th on the tt so it was clear they were all going well.

Gesink with a good final part.

As always, better on the flat/descend than on the climb. Hmmmm....worrying

Dont hate Dekker but he has been awful on every climb really and gets beat by Valverde and Purito in an ITT ,i cant see him winning a GT not when Froome is 27 and Contador 29 and Nibali will probably do Giro for a few years now aswell so thats not an option and Gesink will never get a podium in TDF.I do think on top form he could podium a GT but i cant see it ,youve also got Schleck if he sorts his headout.

I think Gesink will be like VDB and Kreuziger,a few top 5 GC results which by the way is not bad atall,i just cant see him taking that next stop.

No one can say he's on bad form either he was brilliant in the olympics.

This. So far this Vuelta has been the same as last years Vuelta, stage after stage designed for Jrod to win. Contador won the race today, th rest of it will be more telegraphed than the Tour

It has been great. But I do think you should keep in mind that we get live on the stages with 40 km to where they have already ridden 160 of flat.
But it is - so far - a great race.

Tony should really quit the season. If he continues he'll only emberasse him further.
Time to call it a day and prepare for striking back next year!
