Unbelievable, win makes it even better!

Obviously persistence pays off!

F**** unlucky for me to have missed everything up to 15km to go! Very fast stage

I feel bad for Purito, I really like him as a rider, but wow, Bertie you are one ruthless man when you have the bit between your teeth.

Chapeau brother, Chapeau!

Maybe now we will see where the rest of the GC is.

And it was Valv 2nd, Henao 3rd (not Uran as someone mentioned)

Where's the pistol? :) I like Contador behaving naturally.

he wants to make sure valverde didn't pip him again... I settled for not seeing his pistol salute for now. What a great win today for him...

After watching the rest day clip of Saxo, I had a feeling that this was going to happen. Perfect!! Alberto is the greatest.

Alberto followed my first piece of advice and inadvertently followed my second piece of advice and won it.

The first piece of advice was to attack early. Check.

The second was to team up wth Valverde to get some time. Technically a check there too.

Good call today by Alberto. This is how you win a GT. Other riders need to learn from this: attack often and early.

I think this one was done with his head! They hammered from the opening to make a break. Made it work, too. Fantastic stage!
