I came here to say "btw, wasn't Peñas Blancas the climb Libertine talked so much about?". Too late it seems. :D

Let's not get carried away though, Hautacam is quite harder than Peñas Blancas.

more than half the stages MTF, plus two descent finishes... how many stages will not be won by a gc guy?

Seems like they copied that from the Giro.

wait wat?!!!! ok vuelta ruined with an overkill of 1k steep hill finishes

they really must want rodriguez to win it next year. to make it more obvious all they had to do is make it 1 minutes bonus time per stage win for rodriguez only

I wouldn't say it's the one I've talked about a lot, though in between that and Picón Blanco they've had a bit of love from me over time. I do think it's a hugely overlooked climb though, both by races and indeed by us fans, as that area is not the most common for fantasy race planning.

UCI is starting an investigation into Joaquim Rodriguez. They have been tipped he's bribing Unipublic to design stages in his favor.

If only.

Never saw a Giro with more than half the stages mtf sorry :p

I was referring to the second part of your post.

I doubt there has even been a GT with more than half the stages as MTFs.

lol, the **** did yall expect? Last year it was all mtfs and it got super high ratings and all the home media declaring it the best Vuelta ever.

Of course they will repeat.

Few laps around worlds course looks good though. Something tells me they will be using the tt model though.

I prefer this kind of stages more than flat sprints. :p

You need balance.
And you need variety.
It's wrong to have so many MTFs, as it would be wrong to have 10 stages for sprinters.

Like Tour de France. The horrible and boring first week year after year.

Monte Assunção in Santo Tirso more likely...

You know what would be better? TORRE.

TORRE.

That's a real climb.
And the advantage is that Covilhã is the nearest side of climb to Spain
