Crashes already ruined 2 GT's this year, let's hope it won't happen again.

That's prob the only good thing about the vuelta, crashes rarely occurs, but tell that to anton.

You forgot one of the stronger teams: Katusha, with Purito, Moreno, Caruso and Kolobnev. Really strong and most importantly really fresh team.

I´ll have him as a dark horse for the overall if J´rod fails. He really impressed at Burgos.

Still it is more of a Rodriguez route so lets see. But yeah, Movistar and Katusha are the strongest followed by a tired Sky and a shockingly weak TS.

The big thing about Moreno is that he isn't a GT-rider. He's really good at stage races as Burgos, but he always has more then one bad day in a GT. Look at last year, where he was in even better form then this year.

That's why he isn't likely to finish higher then 6-10 place in GC. But he will be really important for Purito, if he's good enough ofcourse.

It was very dissapointing to not see Moreno helping Rodriguez to chase Contador at the epic Fuente Dé stage.

True, just like the stage to the Stelvio, where Moreno had to drop at the bottom and couldn't help Purito anymore:(

Yeah. You've right of course! I still have faith that he actually goes through that (TM) bad day and gives himself the boost he needs in the bigger stage races.

Great work btw :)

I've been saying this since the route came out: with this route, the range of contenders is about as big as the peloton. People are talking about Froome, Quintana and Contador... don't be surprised if none of them end up as victors in Santiago.

This is an absolute joke of a "Grand" Tour.

A shame Cheng (Ji) is not riding it.

You can exaggerate ofcourse.

Evans as an option but no Uran Uran is incredibly wrong. He is a good bet for a podium, even a win is not out of reach. He can win the TT and should be able to defend himself in the short steep hills.
IMO he is best of the rest in the mountains after Contador, Froome, Quintana and Nibali in top form. Better than Valverde and better than Purito, who will try to use the route to his advantage.
Two times 2nd in the Giro, a race which suits him less than a Tour on paper. He should try the Tour next year.

2nd point: Why does the organisation not use the pyrenees properly? There are so many good climbs, both in France and in Spain. Long and tough climbs. They should do at least 2 stages up there. Still 18 stages left for little Muritos, the trademark of the Vuelta.
