Nice to see as well Pablo Torres on the break. I am from Burgos, so I like Burgos team. Pablo is from Galicia, so he must be very motivated, he is a strong rider, I had the oportunity to follow him training once and talk a little.

No GC threat in that break. Given yesterdays tough ride, this will certainly be allowed to go.

Looks like a great finale. Too hard for the pure sprinters I think. So i'll go with a late attack by Pöstlberger.

If that is the profile, and it looks like it is, the final is harder than I though. That climb at 10 Km to the finish, allow even the GC contenders to try something.

It is not the first time they finish at this point, I just remember the beautiful landscapes of the cape and the seaside, with a narrow road, but I dont remember quite well how hard it was.

I like the finale, but you have to wonder why they aren't riding the loop with the 3rd category climb in the other direction. That would make this a really interesting medium mountain stage while now everything will be decided on the last 10 kilometers.

Yes, today is going to be a figh for the victory on the break, with very interesting people as Nibali, Bambrilla, De Gent, Campenaerts, Geniez,..

But we will see the posible rain, could be as well figh on the peloton. There is a section at the middle of the stage on the coast, when the wind will be very good for echelons, and all the final Km are up and down with that climb of 2,1 at 6,2 that could be perfectly a 3 cat. climb at 10 from the finish, enough to drop some important riders, similar than yesterday did Education First.

And compared to yesterday, most of the break will want the win and will contribute to pace. The only questionmark for large gap between break and peloton is Herrada who is "only" 5m45s behind in GC. Would be funny though to see Cofidis in leader jersey for one stage

Hard to see that would matter. Everyone has seen he is not in shape (yet) to outperform anyone.

I doubt it
he's probably just doing a training session - testing hist limits

Nobody knows if he has some kind of form, not even him. Everybody should work, the selection and attacks will probably start on Alto de San Pedro.

I agree but it would certainly be at the back of there mind. The break has formed now might as well crack on. If a the bunch is reduced and he seems strong he may not get compliance at the end of the stage though

Good question after yesterday. I personally don't think either MS or Movi is too concerned Herrada taking the jersey with even 2-3 minutes gap at the end of the stage. It might even be considered as relief by MS ahead the mountains.

Super-strong break including some TT specialist guys in there who can do a lot of work. And almost none of the riders in the break have a motive to dally about or to sabotage their chances. I think they have enough to stay away, and if so, very interesting battle for the stage win

Yeah, there are five or six really good riders in the break, all of whom would be strong contenders in nearly any breakaway:

Nibali
Geniez
Formolo
Brambilla
de Gendt
Teuns

Throw in van Baarle, Devenyns, Machado and Conti and Herrada, and you have a really good break. Tempted now to avoid media and watch it on DVR this evening.

Herrada doesn't have any GT credentials, but I assume he's never given a *** before. His palmares otherwise is pretty good.
If he gets 10 minutes or so, this could be entertaining.

Herrada has ridden as a domestique in most of his GTs. He's a strong rider though. They should start to worry about him.

If the last week was with decent mountain stages, it could have been interesting with Herrada.

But it's filled with these ridiculous 20 percent monstrosities that the Vuelta organisers apparently think are the only thing the public wants to see, so he will be without chances (and he probably would have been so in any event, even if he were to have a five minute lead after today, which he will not).
