How many times have we seen him riding for a podium instead of chancing it for a win? Yes valverde's won a lot, but a guy with his talent would win twice as much if he had a winner's mentality

I think Yates wanted to get a gap from Valverde before the slighter slopes at the top which is Bala terrain. I understand his attack

Valverde has a lot to learn. Maybe he'll win half as much as Simon Yates in his career if he changes his mentality.
