If Roglic goes and is in good shape he should be the favorite and winner. If his shape is poor or he doesn’t go it’ll be a fight between Roglic (if present), Almeida, Adam, Landa, Mas (if he improves like usual for Vuelta), and a surprise rider. I think UAE is going to repeat what Visma did last year winning all GTs. Hope Quintana, TGH, Carapaz, and C Rod find the shape to challenge for the win. Kuss best placing is fifth. If Cian goes it’ll be an interesting team battle.

Enric finding them Vuelta legs. Movistar bringing their A game with Oliviera, Nairo, Rubio, and Pelayo Sanchez.

IPT have just Riccitello and Teuns… any room for a former 2 time winner and 7 time GT winner???
Dno about Oliveira, but I expect Pelayo, Nairo and Rubio to be really good this race and hunt for stages and help Enric. Maybe one of them can even get to stay in the top-10.

Curious about Riccitello after his performance in Tour de Suisse. Should be ready to test himself as a GC rider in the Vuelta.
I wouldn't mind Carapaz being in shape and having no mishap early. He was a safe bet for a GT podium until 2022, then had all kind of problems since joining EF.
Skjelmose has set this Vuelta as his main 2024 target a long time ago so we should get a better idea of his future as a three week rider.

UAE, Roglic and Mas are favorites for the jersey but it could be a more open race than what we've seen in recent times.

Carapaz looked so good in the final week of the tour ...could be he went too deep though. Landa and Almeida could be good contenders but again wondered if they left alot on the road in the Tour as were essentially riding both GC and as a Dom

I think Mas though will do a good Vuelta
Roglic will be Roglic and good
I think Dani Martinez is also a very good option..if allowed
Hard to know if Kuss has recovered ...I hope so

As for UAE not letting Ayuso ride the Vuelta ......sounds like revenge for his Tour

But seeing that with Pog not going to the Olympics to represent his country cos Slovenia didn't pick his girlfriend I am not surprised

Almeida peaked at suisse tour. No guarantee he can peak again the same season
Pogacar peaked from start March to late July. Anything's possible man -especially at UAE!

God, I can't wait for this race to start. Who cares about the Olympics honestly.. Im really interested in watching Del Toro, he might do an Ayuso/Pog and podium his first GT!

Pogi is the outlier on peaking. His tour form is his best for sure. But the rest of the season looks like 80-85% which is good enough to win a lot of things

If Remco and Pogi and Jonas miss out, it could finally be a very exciting GT for a long time, with many riders hoping to finish on the podium. Accordingly, the race could also become more unpredictable, because nobody is “afraid” of overpowering opponents. At the Giro, everyone realized that Pogi was stronger and didn't even try. At the Tour, too, it was the 3 top riders and then the helpers. Also the Vuelta last year and the Tour last year. The Vuelta could finally be the close, exciting race that everyone had hoped for in a GT. At least it is currently very difficult to predict which three riders will end up on the podium. I'm looking forward to it.
Like the 2023 and 2022 Giros? They were exciting, weren't they?

I‘m looking forward to seeing Tiberi in the Vuelta. He came out super of the Giro, but was exhausted and burned out at the Dauphine. The break afterwards certainly did him well. He‘s a candidate for Top 3 or 5 in GC, but I don‘t want to make pressure here.

I wish him a great joyful Vuelta :)
