meh.... the rivalry and tension is okay, but in the end it was just another stupid 2km uphill sprint, I didn't think it was that exciting.......

Froome paced himself better inthe last 5k of yesterday.
He dropped Contador like a stone today.
If his sayings about his (lagging) form are true, then Contador stands no chance in the Tour. Even if he skips the Giro.

you gotta love Froome, one of the bravest guys in the peloton

you do. he's a fighter and doesn't ever quit. chapeau to him. though it does give me pause about all of the talk yesterday that Contador was further ahead in his training, etc. because of the Giro. Now what are they going to say?

It's a 5-day race in February. It's fine. The problem is when GTs and the like only have the same thing on the menu.

This reminds me of the great rivalries of the past.

I know i wasn't born, but the Froome-Contador rivalry will have the same importante as the Coppi-Bartali rivarly in 40 years.

yeah.. i guess he should just say.. the climb didn't suit me yesterday. And I was struggling. Today it doesn't look like Froome's training is way behind either. That excuses doesn't work anymore... :D

Today it was a long and hard day, more with the wind and rain, and the vbevgining was fast during 50 kms, and it is a second day of effort. That is better for Froome.

Big % slopes is not the best for him, but today was an ally, becouse that way is easier to drop anybody.

The team did very well today, not as yesterday, and they could use Nieve.

Tomorrow there is still fight for GC.

Great spectacle.

It should be interesting to see what they say afterwards. Seems Contador just had a bad day, whilst Froome could just do his patented 3 minute max effort. Also, Contador has the tendency to go too deep to follow someone if he can't actually do it. Also, the motors really helped Froome with his attack. Don't think yesterday and today say too much

They will say something different.... The teams and there DS are mostly pretty good with media and feed what they want to feed with the right spin on it. It is more hilarious if we have like 30 pages of posts in the different subforums here in february (!) where there is basically some reading in the tea leaves going on (shameless fanboy-ism aside which i do respect)
