Interesting break, with Sicard and Marcato. I'll be watching Marcato, with the recent shakeup of the team, and his stealthily excellent season last year.

Valls, Duarte (Geox-TMC) and Rovny (RadioShack) are in pursuit. If I read that correctly.

They are going up Puerta de Polopos now, 8 minutes ahead of the peloton. Valls, Rovny and Duarte are chasing. Interesting.

Seems like the main group was reduced to 20 riders. Engoulvent not one of them.

Samuel Sánchez (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Leipheimer and Zubeldia (RadioShack), Frank Schleck and Lund (Saxo Bank), Pardilla, Ventoso and Pasamontes (Movistar), Bernabeu (Andalucía-Caja Granada), Hupond (Skil-Shimano), Coppel (Saur Sojasun), Van den Broeck and Pujol (Omega Pharma-Lotto), Duarte and Valls (Geox-TMC), Carrara (Vacansoleil), Ten Dam (Rabobank), Huzarski (NetApp), Moreno and Cuesta (Caja Rural).

Seems like Engoulvent dropped from the peloton which only consists 20 riders at this point.

How much of a climber is Irizar?

E: Not good I suppose since he's not in the peloton anymore. Looking good for Coppel, LL and Van den Broeck.

And it would seem Sky have managed to have no riders in the main group.

Ramirez attacked from the breakaway and now has 15 seconds lead on Sicard and De la Cruz. Why would he go solo so early?

Peloton closing in.

Javier Ramirez solo with 15" on Sicard et al.

De la Cruz (Caja Rural), Etxebarria (Orbea) have been caught, I think.

Oh, Google translate.

A buddy of mine just posted this on facebook:

"Go to google translate German -> Turkish and enter 15 x 'ä'"

The result is surprising :)

(for those who don't have umlauts on their keyboard, just copy this

äääääääääääääää )

That is crazy.

In race news: Uran did not make the lead group, if the ticker is to be believed. That heavy Sky uniform is clearly sapping his climbing strength.

Looks like the chasers have been reabsorbed by the peloton, so Sky are off the hook.

Using Google Translate, I'm open to correction.
