Always have to judge the penultimate kilometre right. It ramps right up, then flattens a little, then steeper again before the flamme rouge. Nairo got it right, Arroyo nearly stole a march on them but not quite strong enough to hold it on the second ramp.

The lack of the ITT/TTT this year made it easyish for him to do that though. Still, a very good race up to the summit, as ever at Neila. Wish they'd bring back the San Juan del Monte finish too.

Arroyo 2nd, Basso 3rd, wow, Nibali blew up completely!!!
