Clearly Roglic is not celebrating his sprint wins because he’s afraid of falling off his bike. He has matured and is willing to win ugly.

There is one subtle difference and that is AFAIK Thomas doesn't unzip.

One more difference, Thomas doesn't win these days...

The big Roglic attack has been just around the corner for about a year now.

12 wins this year, can't argue with his tactics at all, getting a bit older now and winning in the most economical way possible.

But let's not pretend he's something he isn't. He's getting the most out of his current abilities whilst taking no risks and riding ultra-boring, like Geriant Thomas currently is, and that's fine, Thomas is a great rider.

Yes but if 2 no risk strategy riders are in the lead, the 2023 Giro is what happens and when 2 risk takers are in the lead 2023 tour is what happens. This is where a rider like Remco is required so that when he takes the lead with a TT, if these no risk guys go to sleep they lose. It forces them to come out of their shells early like stage 8 of the Giro 2023

You get a stalemate when the top 2 guys both think they're in a winning position, or 1 of them thinks he has the winning position and the 2nd one doesn't feel he has the legs to attack so he prefers to wait longer.

In the Giro Roglic attacked hard the stage before the ITT, then he crashed the day after the ITT. Jumbo rode to win on Monte Bondone and set up a Roglic attack, only to find out he didn't have it. He attacked on Coi and couldn't drop Thomas, and he attacked on Tre Cime but couldn't drop Thomas until the end.

"Bennett is also taking turns in the third group. So right now, Bennett is chasing Vine who is chasing Yates who is doing everything in his power to not let Vine get back up again."
