i was just thinking...this vuelta will have the descent of cordal and the straight large kind of descent to pena cabarga.damn i hope anton will stay safe,mentally if i were him i would be shiit scared.

This is not to say that flat wide roads are more dangerous, this is just to say that freak accidents can happen anywhere on the road

Now that's something interesting: Devolder yes, since june he's focused on the Vuelta, don't mind his ITT last monday, that was an off-day, so he said...

I wonder if he will deliver anything at all...i hope for him but fear the worst...

The road was wide and straight. There must have been something unusual to cause a crash in those conditions (a pothole, a crack or something).

He certainly crashed in 2008 in the same descent of Alto del Cordal they do before Angliru. He should also pay attention to the descents of Ancares and San Lorenzo.

If I recall correctly there was a huge branch in the middle of the road when he crashed last year

While I don't think there will be a lot of changes those rule books are from last year even though they are posted on this year's page.
