I don't think so? Cav has only previously worn maglia Rosa for 2 days and the maillot vert in 09 tour?

I don't think so either, never won THE yellow jersey, tho I guess he will have an eye on it next year with no prologue and a possible sprint in stage 1?.

Not too many British and Irish riders have won stages in all 3 GTs. I think only Seamus Elliot in the 60s and Robert Millar in the 80s.

For those of us new to venturing past Versus TdF - could someone kindly point me to sources for following this live?

If you get Universal Sports network they will carry it. You can also subscribe to their service online, I believe. Also check http://www.cyclingfans.com the day of each stage for links - they usually provide pretty good access points.

For me...

Garmin
Katusha
HTC

The problem was not with the City council was with the Police department cuz They said that the race missed some legal requirements...

Also, what other languages do you speak, if any, that would be a good way to rule out certain streams.

But what is this talk about legal issues? Will the city really try to stop the race? That would be quite strange, as they did apply for the race and probably paid for it as well. What are the chances of it not going on? Anyone from Spain can help me with that?

It's not a problem with the city itself, but with the local police. They're likely trying to bargain a little and it will all come to nothing in the end.

Im not counting sprint jerseys or kom jerseys or combativity jerseys, or jerseys from every stage race. I simply mean the maillot jaune (tdf) mallia rosa (giro) and malia ??? (vuelta), the grand slam of jerseys.

He has worn the pink, he did that because htc won a time trial where he sprinted for the line.
I said that if htc wins the vuelta ttt ( a possibility) then he will likely sprint to the line again and wear the red jersey. And then he only has to win stage 1 of tdf to wear the yellow, and have the grand slam of jerseys.

Get it.;)

quick point about garmin. If they had CVV in the ttt in the giro they would have done better. And they always do really well in ttts.

I think Liquigas and Garmin are the most powerful squads for the first stage. Liqui Guys have already won two TTT this year: Giro d'Italia and Settimana Coppi e Bartali.

Another very important value is the temperature in Andalusia, never below 35ºC these days. Fortunately, the TTT will be raced at night.

If you're in the US and want the whole race guaranteed, or On Demand later, you can give Universal Sports $14.95
One caveat - if you try watching a stage once it's ended, they put the name of the winner right next to the play button, or at least they have in the past.

I'll be listening to the Eurosport UK player if it works, and watching whatever online feed is best quality on the day. You can go to steephill.tv for links and race coverage, or check fromsport.com for links at race time.

does anyone know what the order will be. Cuddles got screwed in the giro because he had to go early and face the wind.

None of the top 3 (or top 4 for that matter) from last year are here. Who gets to go last. Also who wears number 1?

Someone from Cervelo will get #1. The rest of the teams are in alphabetical order from AG2R (11-19) to Xacobeo (211-219).

I also don't expect a lot of wind that late in the day .

They no longer do this. The premium site -- a bargain, with good reliable video quality -- has no spoilers.

Cav only has one of the three though?
Cadel Evans has completed the Grand Slam in just the last 3 GTs!

Ah yes cuddles. and all 3 were for a day were they not? Great achievment, I was hoping he could make it the season grand slam but unfortunately bmc werent invited.

And i was saying that Cav has a good chance of doing the grand slam, if Htc win the ttt (and they have a very good chance) and he crosses the line 1st (most likely) . Because then he will have 2 of the 3, and next years tdf stage 1 is a sprint so whoever wins it gets yellow, and im picking cav for that.

And its more of an achievment for a sprinter to do it than it is for a tter like canc or gc contender/all rounder like cuddles

But all that is only if (big if) htc win on saturday.

Cavendish will have to be on the very top of his game to win stage 1 in 2011. Mont des Alouettes isn't an easy finish.

Is it? I don't know that I agree. 2 of the 3 have time bonuses, and the Tour used to; in that case, any sprinter who was dominant in their time, especially to the extent that Cav is, could take it at some point in the first week just by not being completely appalling in the prologue, especially considering the Tour likes to have no GC stages until the second weekend. A TTer is perhaps better suited because of the likelihood of a prologue to begin a race. But for a GC man to hold each jersey, they have to have been at the business end at some point once the racing has got going in earnest, and so for Evans to hold it in each of the last GTs is, to me, more of an achievement than if Cav were to win a stage 1 sprint and two TTTs from a team comprised almost entirely of national TT champions.
