He's arguably the best sprinter among the climbers here.
If he can hang on to the others, he may win the stage.

I doubt it though. My money's on Tondó winning the sprint if he holds on.

Bare in mind that Purito has been getting a lot of sprint practise these last few days. Hes gone for all out sprints at least 3 times in the last 2 days. Surely hes getting the hang of it by now and should drop all the gc contenders in a sprint ;)

You people need to start realizing that when I say "my bet is", that means "this is what I think is about 5% likely, which is still more likely than any other situation" instead of taking it as "THIS IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING" ;)

Currently resisting urge to be an asshat and reply by linking you to the oxford english dictionary :D

Yet, if those two somehow manage to hold on to a big enough lead at the bottom of the climb, Tschopp is by far the better climber of the two, isn't he?

I know that it doesn't really matter, cause once the gap is down to less than 5 minutes, it's unlikely the couple survives at the front, but still - I would have liked some insight on who is the better climber... Or maybe none of you know exactly what climbing abilities Cherel has, since he is so young?

Chérel is not a climber at all. He's a classics type guy with a decent sprint. Won a ton of races as a youth. Not the type that's likely to show much as a pro.

Tschopp is a pure climber. Not a good one, but a climber, still.

I wasnt dismissing your suggestion i was using your comment about a potential sprint as a diving board to make another comment about a potential sprint.

Tschopp won a mountain stage in this years Giro.

Cherel was 25th in the Vuelta last year.

Thanks, guys, that's useful info :)

Yeah, I thought Chérel was a sprinter-type rider too, but interesting how he still managed to make the Top 25 and be inside 40 minutes in last year's GC...
