Hutarovich came from way back - was faster than everybody else in that sprint except Cav. It would have been nice to see what Hutarovich could do if he were in a better position. At least have a challenge for the sprint.

Props to HTC for doing the proper research on the turns and setting up their sprints excellently.

Weird, Hushovd was sitting the entire sprint. Still got 2. though as he was (although he couldn't even hold it!) on cavs wheel.

So, what stage will see Cav doing the lead-out for Goss as a thank-you for all the fish?

i guess it'll depend on the green jersey comp..

Goss is very very fast.. cav said he was having trouble holding his wheel

Like Cav said in the interview, they really did their homework on the final k. They were rather far back but then they took the curve with 500m to go better than everyone else and was all of a sudden in the lead. He said that while other riders were breaking through the curve they knew that it wa wide enough to just power through so they took maximum advantage of that.

When Cav and HTC are 'bombing' around the last corner, the other teams know they need to take it cautiously or it's a one-way ticket to the tarmac.

HTC use this very much to their advantage.

Goss is able to win himself. What a shame

Goss will get a stage dont worry. He's had a strong year and showing that losing Greiple is not a problem for HTC.

Goss looks to be incredibly fast at the moment. If he's there in the final at worlds (which is much more likely than cav being there), he could definitely end up in the rainbow jersey. So perhaps Cav will have a world champion doing leadouts for him next year? :p

Theo Bos went top10 and also Jonny walker..

(the youngest will lose it again now )
Again Bos didn't hold his position well and didn't really sprint.

Hutarovich gave him a shoulder barge and Bos gave him the spot like a newbee. He should thoughen up.

Recently I get the feeling that Hammon is following more of the online actively (and forums too?), and sometimes you get an echo of it during stages like this.

Harmonn did mention us during the Landis scandal - saying you can find more inf on cn forums. Wouldnt be surprised if he read us now and again. Probably would have me on ignore by now though.

And thanks for the complement.

johnnie walker made the top 10

He beat some good sprinters. Freire seems to be having a personal duel with Fabian as to who takes the Vuelta least seriously.

It was originally a triple threat competition but Schleck thought of a killer way to win this which ultimately went too far and got him kicked out.

Still i think the best thing for Johhnie Walker would be to win the Lantern Rouge, hes not that far off.

And the other good sprinter was jj. wtf is up with him. 18th???

Well, they know what they sign up to. But yeah, you'd rather see them go head to head.

We have this discussion every time Cav wins a stage and everyone decides it was the lead-out man (not disputing the brilliant job Goss has done the last two stages) but ask Ciolek how that story turns out.

But his positional sense and his tactical nous is very dodgy, a bit like the very talented Alex Rasmussen, of whom Cavendish said last year that he was faster than him on the track.

I'll have to have another look at the finish, But yeah Bos can normaly handle himself and has the flat line speed.

Hutarovich is a very good rider though, impressive.

Didn't watch. Don't care.

Hopefully the race can get back to normal service, ie something interesting happening, tomorrow. This last two days have been pathetic. Almost as bad as stages 4-6 in the Tour, or the eight stages of the eight-stage Tour of Turkey that Greipel won, or at least that's what it felt like.

I caught up on the ticker, and it unfolded exactly as I thought. I was bored and fed up with it and I didn't even watch it, that's how bad it was.
