If Poels didn't lose stupid time in the first 2 flat stages he would have been top 5. But then again, so would Menchov

menchov has also been quite good.

Such a shame for poels.

Still 4 different dutch riders to finish in the top 10 of a GT within 15 months (providing poels does so). Incredible.

Every single one under 25 also.

Fanboy moment, but fuk yeh :D

4th and 5th on the Angliru, 2nd and 3rd overall, and people still can't stop *****ing about Sky. Unbelievable.

Froome was dropped on the 1st climb of the day. How many of you would have put your faith in that guy on the Angliru?

If you finish the Vuelta with the number 2 less then half a minute behind the winner, which looks likely, and you made him be the helper the whole way through, even though he looked like at least his leaders equal, you screwed up, I'm sorry. After what Froome did in the Time Trial he should have been co-leader.

It reminds me of the 1996 tour where Ullrich was the better of Riis, the only difference is that time Telekom at least won the tour.

Was he properly dropped though? It happened near the top and sometimes riders just ease up a bit at the top knowing they will get back on the descnet. Also, some climbs have soigneurs at the top handing out bottles. Easier to drop back and take a load rather than fight for position and then risk a crash by slowing down etc?

Cobo riding 20% inclines quicker than i ride to work. Seriously that was laughable.

what, when you ride to work the pedestrians run alongside you & keep up? I think you're in the wrong sport, mate. Maybe try some videogaming instead. Seems better suited to your physical abilities.

He was briefly dropped on San Lorenzo yesterday and then laid the smack down on everybody on Farrapona. To be honest I was surprised, but not that he came 4th and less than a minute down. I half-expected him to pull some ridiculous Ivan Basso 2006 show given how mental he's been so far in the race.

It should've been painfully obvious that Froome was the strongest when he beat ****ing Wiggins on a ****ing time trial :p (captain hindsight to the rescue!)

And as DS of Sky, having seen Froome blow up time and time again in one week tours, you really would have put your eggs in that basket?

that's what you get for wearing black socks....
Cobo has black socks as well. And he pulls them even further up than Wiggins does... but he doesn't have silver shoes.

Yeah I know there are suffering financiel-wise, but wasnt aware that it was so bad..

a shame for spain....

Didn't you see that the camera following Wiggins group fell over and hit the ground and then the picture died.

That is bloody steep. Just like burning motos on Zoncolan. I was happy that we got pictures despite the weather.

Lol Duarte out of ****ing nowhere & Mike Snow
He was always on the lead group until the middle of the climb.

I am glad that he did OK. I was starting to worry since this climb suits his qualifications.

He took it easy couple of days ago. Now he probably needs to work hard for Cobo.

Cobo 20 bonification seconds ahead of Froome. How's Froome's sprint?

I don't know but he sure as hell can't outsprint guys like Purito, Poels or Mollema so that's looking good for Cobo.

Exactly the same as yesterday. He let everyone go on the penultimate climb and was strong at the business end of the race
