Anyway..

Contador is pretty obvius stating thrue out the media..

That he loves it at Bjarne Riis Saxo bank and would all ready now signed for further years, if Riis also wants him...

But still, i also gotta admit that Contador is the most talented guy of the peloton, and Riis and Contador could be a good pair..
Both seems down to earth and with no big ego´s. ;)

Big bearhug from bjarne riis after contadors beautiful effort on alpe huez..

I've no problem with Cobo BTW now I'm thinking straight, his fans should be proud of how the guy rode today and is probably the deserving winner of this race when all is said and done. And well done to the Friggins twins.

Anyway I'm announcing a sabbatical until next year.. You might or might not notice I'm gone but dont worry I'm not dead or in a comatose situation or vegetative state or anything. (well hopefully not)
I will speak to you all again February 2012 for the spring classics!

They have to make one up then. After the Urkiola climb. Wishful thinking of course, but wouldn't that be epic if the Sky duo simply took off after the climb. :D

Cobo would still win though.

That's what I said, only I anticipated it would be Nibali that Wiggins needed to get away from. The Geox flat stage men might be easier to get away from than the Liquigas ones, but then I suspect Geox will just let a break go, and we'll see if Sky are strong enough to bring it back, because they'll need the time bonuses to be available.

Maybe they can hope for a miscalculation like when Zaballa won Asturias from Duarte in 2010.

No way the Sky duo could get away from the field on flat. Even if they try (and i don't think they will) look for the guy called Menchov to do huge turns on the front.

Oh, it wouldn't be likely to have any success whatsoever. But it can't be every day that an opportunity like this to win a GT arises. If they're close enough what have they got to lose? If it fails, sit up before you totally crack, and nestle back into the group.

Really, what Sky need is an ITT.

Yep, if there was a 10km ITT around madrid on the last stage they could do it. As it is now I really cant see Cobo losing it. Best hope Sky have now is hope for big cross winds at some point and try and split it.

Well, Wiggins can lose the podium for example. I don't know if he is ready to risk it for a very small chance or not.

Wiggins should shut the **** up already and do everything that gives Froome a chance to win.

And supposedly Wiggins rode the Vuelta just to prepare for the Worlds.

Thanks for trying mate. Still says the same thing.
Guess I'll just have to wait.
I missed the climb completely, had to run out with 22 km to go.:(

It'll work just leave it for an hour or so.

Wiggins and Froome have a little chance in basque stages. If someone know vuelta al pais vasco stages. The problem is that Geox is the most powerfull continental team. Duarte, Sastre, Menchov and de la Fuente will be at front and working for Cobo. Cobo will have strong helpers for sure.

The only clear option is emulate covatilla and farrapona in peña cabarga.

so machado was the best shack rider a whole 5 minutes ahead of brajkovic and zubeldia. . .(yet 5 minutes down on cobo himself ofc)

seems like it wasn't such a great idea to have him wait for zubeldia yesterday and have him lose 20 minutes in 1 stage.

It was an idea. Neither good nor bad. A pretty irrelevant idea, really.

By the way, can we take this as official confirmation that Brajkovic is not and will never be a rider for the GTs? He can't seem to hold his form for longer than 36 hours.

He still never had a perfect route till a GT.

I mean the Vuelta was a back up plan. But yeah, it seems unlikely

Mollema more or less confirms what I thought. He was feeling great on the penultimate climb, but on the Angliru he was suffering. That climb simply doesnt suit him.
He seems to turn too big a gear, maybe trained with Weening a bit too much?

Brajkovic had good form in the Tour of Utah. He's just not a GT rider. Too fragile, maybe.

Yeah but he was pretty strong in Utah and he's been fading every day. You're right though, if it wasn't confirming what we've seen several times before it wouldn't be enough by itself to conclude he just doesn't have the recovery.
