It was an idea. Neither good nor bad. A pretty irrelevant idea, really.

By the way, can we take this as official confirmation that Brajkovic is not and will never be a rider for the GTs? He can't seem to hold his form for longer than 36 hours.

indeed machado would have been top 20 at best atm so a pretty irrelevant GC placing anyway.

He still never had a perfect route till a GT.

I mean the Vuelta was a back up plan. But yeah, it seems unlikely

well i would give brajkovic one last chance to see if he can pull it off. he does seem more suit for the 1 week races tho. machado also better show some climbing ability next year because he only climbed decently on the giro di trentino this year which isn't exactly a top field race. he does seem to be able to handle 3 weeks just fine so he may have to become a domestique if he doesn't improve.

CoBo! I hope now that Sastre& Míster Menchov will be humble enough to work on behalf of the New Kid on the Block! (& Give him the benefit of the doubt)

They already did that. Menchov totally sacrificed himself these last two days.

Menchov was obviously the 2nd strongest climber these past 2 days and didnt attack because Cobo was ahead and he didnt want to drag froome/wiggins up to him. So yeah Menchov has already sacrificed his chances for Cobo. He will by an awesome teammate to have in the Basque stages though. He will tear it up!

Team Sky would of Taken things as They Stand at the Moment at the Start of the Tour for Sure.. Think they would rather take on Cobo than Nibali any Day .. Its a 6 stage Race now with A Handful of Seconds Separating and Bonuses on Offer .. Just a Bit of Crosswind and a Bit of Bad luck or off day to Cobo and its game on again..

Never is a long time. A few weeks ago I'd have said the same about Froome, Poels, Fuglsang, Kessiakoff... Being a Shack rider Brajkovic won't hit his peak for at least 10 years

Just shows what people can do when they arent working for others:D

Grabsch is number 75 - Menchov number 65 so must have been a mistyped number.

Apart from the obvious reason he hasn't raced a lot this year so probably a bit rusty.

Don't know why Astana and him made noises about a top-5.

it was just him so that's why the situation is laughable(and i even like kash).he just should do like vino said "shut up and let your legs speak".
next year he will be forced to ride like his old self otherwise bye bye big money contract.

There's already plenty of action in the clinic about Froome and Cobo's performances. If Grabsch was climbing with them it would explode.

We have seen Grabsch climb with Froome in the past, when they both come in the broom wagon. But that's the only times.

That would be impossible. His bike alone wouldn't be able to cope with the power output.

I saw Bert Grabsch at last years ToC and he was HUGE! I don't see how he'd be able to climb good if he ever did with his current stature.

Had a chance to watch the whole climb of Angliru now.
Great ride by Cobo!
Froome once again rode out of his skin. Sky clearly made the wrong choice in making him work for Wiggins (the power of hindsight:)).
Poels showing again he's one of top 5 climbers this Vuelta.
Menchov rode better, as I expected. Seems to me he timed his peak a week too late though. Could have won this otherwise (if he avoided his usual unnecessary time losses).
Monfort went waaay better than I expected. Thought he'd lose more time.
Nibali is the one that puzzles me really:confused:
What happened to him. After seeing him closing the gap to 4" the other day, I was sure he'd own the overall.

Waiting for power output data to be calculated to see just how credible these performance were.

Edit:I just saw that Cobo climbed faster than Contador in '08.
Also, what's the deal with not seeing Wiggins being dropped? Camera motorcycle fall?

el chava,gibo,heras,contador,cobo.

i was praying for that to happen,a legend to win this stage.

glad to see duarte riding so well despite his form.

While I applaud your enthusiasm, I wouldn't go so far as to call Cobo a legend.
What are Sastre and Menchov then, to name just two?
