well not just that but I think he's a good all round commentator who just calls it as he sees it and adds in some extra things he notices. He isn't so focused on anglo ridrs as well even though the audience would be mostly interested in them.

Well he is still a bit anglo orientated but better than most. He could defo do with someone to work with, must be a very hard job to do yourself.

I am sick of the Matt Keenan bagging!

I said nothing about his abilities, just that without the conversational flow that a second person in the box allows, early stages of a race make for very stilted commentary.

But his pronunciation of my significant other's maiden name as Frum is irritating.

Poels did manage to follow the Froome Wagon all the way to the summit yesterday and kick off at the end so it's not inconceivable that he might win today.

poels gotta be confident. Bit early maybe.

It is a stretch I agree. He has been doing a fine vuelta tho, He has been climbing good enough to be in the top 10, but is still 17th or something.
He is 17th because he lost 1:49 on the flat and 4:15 in the time trial
In pure climbing time he is 4th  only behind mollema, cobo and wiggins

After Poels' performance yesterday he must be a good bet. Also, maybe there are more Dutch viewers due to Mollema and so they are gaining extra airtime?

So the breakaway doesn't even make it to the Cordal... we're gonna see some early action.
