lol at you comparing their injuries.. did you see that hole in his knee?
I was compassionate, i just said fugslang was overrated.. and stand by my comment, he was never going to contend imo (you seem to grudge opinions though?).. get over it mate. ;)

I did actually see the pic on Gesink's twitter. Horrible of course, but from what was described about Fuglsang the injuries were comparable in severity.

I don't resent opinions, but from what I remember you were dismissive of the negative effects his stage 4 injuries had on his GC ambitions.

All I'm saying is that if Johnny Hoogerland can be 12th in the Vuelta, i think an on form, healthy Fuglsang should be able to ride top 10 is all.

Was wondering that about Sanchez myself, Euskatel are definitely planning something, they keep upping the pace.

Rain, cobbles.... Gilbert vs. Breschel if they stay away? :)

If Gesink can't survive I hope Sammy and Valverde make a good fight out of it.

Seems like Gilbert, by far, and then Fuglsang and Kreuziger are strongest...

What did you say about Gilbert again before ;)

Sometimes it's good to be wrong :)

I hope he keeps his form for the worlds. Would be great to see that smug grin of Marck Coucke after a disastrous season. I like that guy :)

haha, sometimes it's good to be right as well. Gilbert got dropped, you win!

I really like his style. He doesn't calculate, he is entertaining, aggressive and he uses his ('koers') instinct. I think I read in an intv he doesn't like the 'ears' either...

good point there, however injuries aside, I don't think he would have been with the 6 man selection, who have proved to be leagues ahead of the others.

good experience though, lot of big things await with him I agree.
maybe he can get a stage here too..

Peleton easing up. Might not see any fireworks here today... tbh i don't want any :p (with Gesink :p)

Redant on Belgian TV. Gilbert had a 'leegloper' (small puncture)

They claim it was because of that.

I thought something else 'liep leeg/deflated' namely his lungs...

Anyway, I think Deignan and Kreuziger are speeding a little! Pretty fast descent...

It's not the ideal stage to do it, but i'm surprised that the Basques haven't made a harder push to step it up and hurt Gesink. If they were to make it hard the next two days, even if they can't loose him, he'd be toast in the TT. But Caisse and Euskatel seem content to just relax to the finish.

I hope kruziger wins. he has ridden really well for basso, and deserves to weep the rewards today.

he is probably toast in the ITT with his knee injury, irregardless of the toughness of today's and tomorrow's stage.

the two were only 5 secons back around the 10km mark. they wont get back now i don't think

Another abandon to add to Danielson's palmares. He also fell, yesterday.
Gerald Ciolek has withdrawn from the Vuelta as the temperatures drop to just eight degrees.

Jeebus. All Tommy D. had to do was hold out for a few more days and he would have a top ten finish. He could say he was back to his old self and would have done better if he had not gotten sick. Now what does he say?

Ah, the beauty of Avila. Where God descended 10 years ago to show the world what cycling is.
