Andy Schleck dropped. Makes his statement that a Schleck will win this Vuelta, he just doesn't know which one, even more preposterous.

There was never a question of AS being in form for the start of the Vuelta. Although i did read somewhere that he will do Lombardy and presumably some other Italian classics.

Moncutie will have to be top 5 over the climb to get points with the new system...

It looks a bit of a bloodbath, lots of wrecked riders.
Pederson from Footen completely blown by the looks of things.

There's just such an incredible difference between an on-form Andy and an out of form one. It's almost ridiculous.

good crowds.

Considering the heat, its possibly for the best that they arent doing this climb twice - on stage 3 of a 21 stage race.

Indeed. I just can't understand it. Sure he's not going for the overall, but getting dropped this early doesn't bode well for his ability to help his brother.

even more ridiculous considering he is a 1 dimensional rider. He can climb. Nothing else. Its not like he will be able to do much on the flat. This - hills is the one point where he could help frank.

I would have suggested for the entirity of the Sky team to pull out of this race after their god-awful TTT. Maybe their team chef was a bit peeved as well...

He needs to seek help. But Sky should be flattered that a guy with a mental age of 12 should relentlessly get on their case.
