They want to secure Valverde on the podium and don't care about Nairo. That's fine, it's their choice, but that's what this is.Valverde is on the podium, with or without Quintana!

They're riding at over 50kph and his team were already pretty much spent. A puncture and the gap would have probably doubled.

Truth is Valverde has the biggest ego in the peloton. His boys worked hard till the moment Quintana wouldn't surpass him in the standings and then stopped. It's not Valverde vs Roglic, it's all about Valverde vs Quintana for Movi.

As it is, Astana is tiring out their own domestiques while Roglič's get to take it easy at last and maybe recover a bit for tomorrow. It makes no sense with the time gap Quintana currently has.

It's a facts not narrative, Valverde always works against Nairo. Did you see like he was pulling away at Los Machucos instead of working together to bridge the gap to leaders? No, Alejandro's main aim was to seize control and sole leadership of his own team. Sometimes it is okey, but today it was beyond the limit...
